Thor vs Surfer - high end showings only

Philosophía
Take their best showings ever, in anything be it strength, speed, durability, energy projection etc.
Who wins?
batdude123
Why?

psycho gundam
nvr's gone (again), so someone else has to has to make these threads.
TheLordofMurder
Thor all day long as pertains combat related feats...
Surfer has (naturally IMHO) shown greater energy manipulation powers though such as when he controlled the Big Crunch energies...
As pertains overall power level, I believe they should be in the same tier (which they are) but Thor's might is more combat oriented than the Surfers.

what versions of thor can be used here? Anything as long as he is not amped.
psycho gundam
the LT made surfer a god, and in another instance he had the ig and changed the universe.
this is still rage bait

TheLordofMurder
As pertains combat related feats (strength, durability, raw energy output) I wont say Thor grossly outclass's Surfer, but he definitely exceeds him...
Withstanding direct attacks from the Celestials while still being durable enough to continue fighting, lifting a portion of the world serpents mass, and his accomplishments with the God Blast and Anti-Force all exceed feats performed by the Surfer in each of those catagories...
marwash22
i don't get the concept of using only high-end showings. Are we supposed to overlooks the character's weaknesses? Like, if it were Bizarro vs. Hulk, are we supposed to ignore all the times Bizarro has been outsmarted?
Philosophía
No. But the stipulations of this thread is that we are to ignore everything but their best.
marwash22
So basically, this is a dick-measuring competition? It doesn't matter who'd win in a fight, we're just comparing feats.
illadelph12
That feat Surfer has of evolving life on a planet by millions of years in a few moments always wins me over.
Blowing shit up be damned.
TheLordofMurder
^^
Feats like that is why I consider the overall power level of the two characters to be in the same neighborhood; Thor has no energy manipulating feat anywhere close to that...but by the same token, Surfer has never ever proven to be capable of injuring a Celestial under his own power (such as Thor did to Exitar with the GB).
Endless Mike
Surfer takes the speed category, at least
TheLordofMurder
^^
Speed and Energy Manipulation...
Mshinu
Thor does an Exitar on Surfer`s face.
Nihilist
Thor knocked Thanos over when he had the IG, he wins dur

Exitar was with belt of strenght wrpped around mjolnir wasnt it?
Blanket
Surfer blew up Rune's hand when he had the IG.
That was hilariously written to say the least...

Nah, not really. Superman has way better feats than MM, but MM winning can still be argued in a normal thread.

IMO SS's feats are more impressive. I'm a speed rules type a guy, and for a good reason. IT WINS.
SS has the ability to amp beyond well beyond Thor and phase. Those two are high on my list too. Thor has some nasty feats too. This is a hard thread to debate.
The Nuul
SS has super speed + super strength = Combo to KO = > Galactus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thor
/Thread.
Rage.Of.Olympus
Thor has shown the ability to affect the intangible. He even hit Loki who had transformed into mist once as I recall.
And lol at "amp well beyond Thor".

The God Blast or him breaking through the shell? Both are pretty high up there.

jeez I love how whenever ppl debate thor, they use feats from over 3 decades ago, when in fact the character has undergone huge changes, as well as comic landscape in general
I will bet thor today could not harm exitar at all

By that logic, SS>Galactus.

What? That doesn't even slightly relate to what I was saying. Are you blind?

keep on using decade old feats when they don't even correlate to modern day thor

but h1's point was when all else equal (or close), then speed trumps
galactus is obviously in a totally other league

No, that is not his point, you'd realize looking in other threads that he gives the win to faster characters even when way out of their league (superman vs Odin for instance).

What the hell do expect me to say? That entire post was just you bitching about us using older feats for Thor.
I will. Thank you.

do you not realize that some feats are not gonna always represent a character's most current abilities? case in point, the exitar example that you love to pull

Did Thor get an explicit downgrade? No? Then shut up, read the opening post, understand it, and stop whining.
Tell me the last two times you recall me mentioning the Exitar example. I think I brought it up once a few days ago. Before that, we're entering weeks in terms of time passed I'm pretty sure.
I don't use the Exitar scene anywhere near a lot due to the circumstances.
cdtm
I hear tell an entity, or entitys created from Surfers powers, yet functioning independently, performed a lot of impressive feats. Since they came from Surfers power, that could qualify as a "Surfer feat", maybe...
Anyone have any idea what I'm referring to, and when it happened?
janus77
Surfer reigns supreme, naturally.
Mshinu
Surfer is Silver, Thor is Gold

Hm. Two of my favorite characters. Lol. Lemme insert my opinions:
Durability - Surfer. Soaking several direct hits from 2 Galactus-level beings and still be strong enough to manipulate energies powerful enough to kill them both (and surviving that, too). Soaking an entire battle fleet's main guns focusfiring on his face w/o flinching, etc. I say Surfer edges out Thor in this category.
Single Target Hitting Power - Thor. Surfer has nothing on the type of opponents Thor has been able to hurt (unamped) when he's being serious. Smashing the Doom destroyer armor, piercing Exitar's armor, chasing Galactus away, etc.
Multiple Target Hitting Power (AoE attacks) - Surfer. He is the king of smashing large or several objects. Speedblitzing an alien battle fleet before they could even react, blowing up planets, creating black holes, etc. Surfer has this category aced.
Combat and Travel Speed - Surfer easily. Don't even need to explain this category.
Versatility - Surfer edges out Thor by just a bit. This is my opinion, they both have a TON of versatile feats
Here are more items I have opinions on, but will no longer post feats to back them up as I am tired and need to sleep. Lol.
Energy Manipulation - Surfer.
Energy Absorption/defense. - Thor.
Strength - DUH. Thor.
Combat Skill - DUH. Thor.
Senses - DUH. Surfer.
Lord Feron
Surfer foceibly pulls Thor to the astral plane and proceeds to mind **** the shit out of him :P Diddy voice:

has he ever done that?
also Thor has shown some resistance to tp before

Yes Surfer as done that. He was out matched physically against some monster then decided to take the fight to the astral plane where he owned it.
Thor's TP resistence is on and off. Sometimes you can have him kissing your boots other times he wills it off and slaps you in the face. But in Surfer's case I bet he can do it.
Warlord
hmm...interesting...thanx

Is SS immortal? Does he age?
