DC hold every cosmology imaginable through Dark multiverse, isn't it?
Because Dark multiverse is in definition sum of every imagination as universe.

Marvel has infinite dimensions as well though, and since this is comic books they could simply write about a new one tomorrow morning.

Dc can't hold every cosmology. Show me anywhere that it's stated they hold Marvel Universe.

You know what, Marvel is bigger, and it holds DC inside of it. In the Thor series, the Black Winter kills the JL and DC universe and then gets soloed by Thor😍😍😍. Boom. Marvel is infinitely bigger than DC. That's the same logic that y'all are using to prove DC is bigger. "Because we want it to be".

When it comes to money, Marvel could literally buy DC. Just look at both companies stock value. You really can't even begin to compare the two.

Disney would have to buy AT&T for that to happen.

Of course.

Where scale is concerned, the Beyond Realm is still the greatest/vastest dimension that Marvel has to offer -- nothing exceeds it to this day, afaik... And from the vantage point of the Beyond Realm, the Beyonder viewed all of mainstream/616 creation as "paramecia" or whathaveyou.

This puts the Beyond Realm about on par with the Monitor Sphere in DC. From this realm of existence, Monitors view the entirety of DC creation(ALL lesser Spheres) as literal "germs"... Which is part of the reason why even Monitor nano-tech scales to city+ size when it emerges in the mainstream multiverse... But that's neither here nor there.

This is only important to the discussion, because we also know that there are realms/dimensions in DC that dwarf even the Monitor Sphere -- such as the 5th dimension, the 6th dimension, the Dark Multiverse, the Overvoid, etc.

Point being, DC cosmology logically scales vastly above Marvel cosmology these days. Hell, one could probably make a convincing argument that even DC's God Sphere(which is situated below the Monitor Sphere) scales proportionately to Marvel's Beyond Realm, if one were so inclined... But again, neither here nor there. /shrug

As it is, I'd probably have the scaling totem pole as such:
Overvoid > 6th dimension > 5th Dimension ~/> Dark Multiverse > Monitor Sphere ~ Beyond Realm > the rest of the multiverse(s) beneath them.

...And keep in mind that each ">" implies gargantuan orders of magnitude.

Is Final Heaven/Retconn inside the Sphere of the Gods? It says that on the wiki page. If not, where do you place Final Heaven at?

Galan007
Hard to say. The entire Young Animal continuum was created as a result of the Eonymous spilling a bit of coffee on the Multiversal Map... And given that the coffee ring(ie. the YA-verse) encompasses a little bit of every realm on the Map:
https://ibb.co/nBmGSLK
...From the local multiverse, to the God Sphere, to the Monitor Sphere, to the Overvoid itself... Final Heaven could be situated anywhere along the way.

The God Sphere sounds about right, though.

Ordering these Marvel cosmic realms from top to bottom, based on current interpretations, especially those heavily influenced by Al Ewing's work (e.g., Defenders Beyond), would look like this:

House of Ideas: This is the absolute apex. It's the ultimate source of all creation, concepts, and stories in the Marvel Omniverse. It's essentially the mind of the One Above All, the supreme being. All other realms and realities are born from or contained within its conceptual framework.

White Hot Room (The Mystery/The Above Place): While intricately linked to the Phoenix Force, recent revelations (again, largely from Al Ewing) place the White Hot Room as a significant part of "The Mystery" or "The Above Place." It's understood as the remnants of the very First Cosmos and a place of primal creation, representing the "idea" of creation, life, and rebirth. It sits conceptually just below the House of Ideas.

The Beyond Realm (The Beyonders' Realm / The Far Shore): This is the domain of the Beyonders, the immensely powerful extra-dimensional beings who were responsible for the destruction of previous Multiverses (specifically the Second Cosmos). It exists outside of the standard Multiverse and is a realm of immense power, but it is ultimately subordinate to the White Hot Room and the House of Ideas. It's often conceptualized as the "engine room" of creation for previous cosmos.

The Neutral Zone / Exo-Space: This is a conceptual "buffer zone" or "space between spaces" that exists within the larger Multiverse but separates individual realities. It's often depicted as a void or a realm where positive and negative matter can coexist without annihilating each other. It acts as a barrier, preventing uncontrolled interaction between universes and sometimes leading to dangerous incursions if breached.

The Superflow: The Superflow is the space between the individual universes within the Marvel Multiverse. It's a sort of psychic or informational conduit where concepts and abstract entities can manifest. It's the "stuff" that fills the gaps between the bubbles of individual universes. While vast and containing abstract concepts, it is still contained within the larger Multiversal structure.

Marvel Multiverse: This is the collection of all alternate universes that readers are familiar with, including Earth-616 (the primary Marvel Universe) and countless other realities (Earth-1610, Earth-TRNXXX, etc.). Each universe is its own self-contained reality with its own set of physics, histories, and inhabitants. The Multiverse itself is a vast, ever-expanding collection of these individual universes.

Simplified Order from Top to Bottom:

House of Ideas (Ultimate source of all)

White Hot Room (Primal creation, remnants of the First Cosmos, part of "The Mystery"wink

The Beyond Realm (Home of the Beyonders, tied to the Second Cosmos)

The Neutral Zone / Exo-Space (Buffer between universes within the Multiverse)

The Superflow (Space and conceptual conduit between universes)

Marvel Multiverse (The collection of all individual universes)

It's important to note that Marvel's cosmology can be incredibly complex and subject to writer interpretation, but this order reflects the most recent and comprehensive attempts to map out these high-level realms.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, let's map out the DC Comics cosmology based on your provided points, incorporating the generally accepted hierarchical structure. DC's cosmology, especially in recent years with Scott Snyder's Justice League and Grant Morrison's various works, has become incredibly intricate.

The Overvoid / The Primal Monitor: Still the absolute highest. It's the blank page, the boundless canvas upon which all of creation, including infinite multiverses, is drawn. The Primal Monitor is its self-aware aspect.

The Great Darkness: The primordial anti-creation force, often seen as emerging from the Overvoid's primal "flaw" or opposite. It's a fundamental aspect of reality's absolute deepest level.

The Presence's Creation / The Omniverse (beyond the Source Wall): This is where the crucial distinction comes in. The "Source Wall" as we knew it (which contained our 52-universe Multiverse) is now understood to be just one layer within a much, much larger construct. The true "Omniverse" contains potentially infinite Multiverses, each created by different "Super-Celestials" or similar cosmic entities, with Perpetua's creation being just one of these countless Multiverses.

Within this larger Omniverse, you would then have the various dimensional layers that apply to each individual Multiverse. The specific levels you mentioned (Sixth Dimension, Fifth Dimension, Fourth Dimension, Sphere of the Gods) primarily pertain to Perpetua's particular Multiverse.

Infinite Multiverses (e.g., Perpetua's Creation, and countless others): This is the key. The DC reality isn't just one Multiverse of 52 (or even infinitely expanding universes within that one Multiverse). Instead, there are infinite Multiverses, each a collection of universes, and each possibly governed by its own foundational principles or "creation teams" like Perpetua and her sons. The Chronicler and the Fuginauts exist at this level, traveling between these distinct Multiverses within the larger Omniverse. The Chronicler's book documenting "trillions of dead multiverses" directly supports this, indicating that Perpetua's current Multiverse is merely one iteration among an incomprehensibly vast number that have existed and perished.

The Sixth Dimension: This is the realm of Multiverse-forging (like Perpetua's workshop), but specifically for a Multiverse. It's a plane of high-level creation and design that operates on the Multiversal scale.

The Fifth Dimension: The dimension of imagination, whose influence can ripple down into the universes.

The Fourth Dimension (The Monitor Sphere / Limbo): The observational plane for a Multiverse, where the Monitors (like those who observed Perpetua's Multiverse) reside.

The Sphere of the Gods (The Bleed): The conceptual space that surrounds and connects the universes within a specific Multiverse, containing the divine realms.

The Third Dimensional Infinite Universes (The DC Multiverse - e.g., Earth-0, Earth-2, etc.): The individual universes that constitute a single Multiverse.

Revised and Expanded Order (Top to Bottom):

The Overvoid / The Primal Monitor (The ultimate void/canvas)

The Great Darkness (Primordial anti-force within the Overvoid)

The Omniverse / The Presence's Creation (containing infinite Multiverses)

Chronicler / Fuginaut's Realm (The "space" between distinct Multiverses, where entities that traverse them reside. They observe and sometimes interact with individual Multiverses.)

Infinite Multiverses (Each a distinct cosmic construct, like "Perpetua's Multiverse" or countless others, often with their own internal hierarchies below this point. This is where the Chronicler sees trillions of dead ones.)

The Sixth Dimension (e.g., Perpetua's forging realm for her Multiverse)

The Fifth Dimension (Realm of imagination for that Multiverse)

The Fourth Dimension (The Monitor Sphere / Limbo) (Observational layer for that Multiverse)

The Sphere of the Gods (The Bleed) (Higher-dimensional realms and connecting layer for that Multiverse)

The Third Dimensional Infinite Universes (The DC Multiverse) (The collection of individual universes like Earth-0, Earth-2, etc., that make up one specific Multiverse.)

This revised structure better accounts for Snyder's revelations about the scale of the Omniverse and the existence of multiple, distinct Multiverses beyond just the one we primarily follow. Perpetua's creation is a multiverse within the larger omniverse.

When comparing the scale of DC and Marvel cosmologies, it's a battle of infinite infinities, and the "winner" often comes down to the most expansive and abstract interpretations of their respective highest tiers. However, with the recent clarifications in both companies' narratives, we can make a more informed comparison:

DC Comics Cosmology (as per recent Snyder/Morrison/Ewing works):

The Overvoid / Primal Monitor: This is the ultimate "blank page" upon which all of DC's creation exists. It's often described as pure nothingness/everythingness, a self-aware conceptual space that contains all. It's arguably the most boundless and fundamental concept in either cosmology.

The Great Darkness: A primordial, fundamental force existing within or as an aspect of the Overvoid, predating even the Presence's creation. Its scope is truly omniversal.

The Omniverse (The Presence's Creation): This is the crucial layer. It's now explicitly stated to contain infinite Multiverses. Perpetua's creation is just one of these infinite Multiverses. The Chronicler's observations of "trillions of dead multiverses" further emphasize this scale. This means there are not just infinite universes within one Multiverse, but infinite collections of universes (Multiverses) all existing within this larger Omniverse.

Dimensional Hierarchy within each Multiverse: The Sixth, Fifth, Fourth Dimensions, and the Sphere of the Gods exist as higher planes within each of these individual Multiverses.

Marvel Comics Cosmology (as per recent Al Ewing works):

House of Ideas: The ultimate source of all stories, concepts, and creation in Marvel. It's the "mind" of the One Above All. It's presented as the ultimate origin point, above all iterations of the Multiverse.

Cosmic Iterations / Cosmos: Marvel's cosmology is fundamentally cyclical, with the Multiverse being reborn in new "Cosmoses." We are currently in the Eighth Cosmos. The House of Ideas exists above all of these iterations.

White Hot Room: This realm is now connected to the remnants of the First Cosmos, indicating its primordial nature and transcending the current Multiverse, but still originating from the House of Ideas.

The Beyond Realm: The domain of the Beyonders, powerful beings from outside the current Multiverse, responsible for destroying previous ones. It's a high-tier realm, but explicitly below the White Hot Room.

The Multiverse: Marvel's Multiverse also contains an infinite number of universes (often depicted as a vast "Omniverse" informally, but more precisely as an infinite Multiverse).

Comparison:

Top Tier (Absolute Blank Slate): Both have a similar concept. DC's Overvoid (Primal Monitor) is a literal blank page/void that contains everything. Marvel's House of Ideas is the source of all creative concepts and ultimately the "mind" of TOAA, implying a similar foundational nature. It's hard to definitively say which conceptual "blank slate" is "bigger" as they represent similar philosophical ultimates.

Beyond Multiverse Level:

DC: The key differentiator for DC is the explicit statement of infinite Multiverses within the larger Omniverse, each potentially containing its own infinite universes and dimensional hierarchies (like Perpetua's). The Chronicler's role reinforces this. This creates a hyper-infinity of realities.

Marvel: Marvel's cosmology, while vast, tends to focus on the cyclical destruction and rebirth of one Multiverse (the Cosmoses), which itself contains infinite universes. While there are realms above the current Multiverse (White Hot Room, Beyonders' Realm), they usually relate to that single, iterating Multiversal structure. The concept of "infinite Multiverses" in the same vein as DC's Death Metal hasn't been as explicitly layered.

Conclusion:

Based on the most recent and expansive interpretations, DC Comics' cosmology appears to be conceptually larger.

The explicit confirmation of infinite Multiverses (each a collection of infinite universes) within the DC Omniverse, where Perpetua's creation is just one of many, arguably scales it beyond Marvel's model of a single, albeit infinitely varied and iterating, Multiverse. While Marvel has realms above its Multiverse, the "nested infinite Multiverses" concept in DC provides an additional layer of boundless scale.

It's a subtle distinction at the highest tiers, as both are effectively "boundless" in their own ways. However, DC's recent emphasis on an Omniverse composed of infinite Multiverses pushes its theoretical size a notch further.

when comparing Marvel and DC: the conceptual layering and qualitative difference of higher dimensions/realms, even within a single Multiverse. DC tends to emphasize this more explicitly and consistently.

Let's break down why DC often feels "bigger" even at the Multiversal level, and how Marvel's scaling differs:

DC's Multiversal Scaling - Emphasis on Qualitative Transcendence:

DC's cosmology, heavily influenced by Grant Morrison and expanded by Scott Snyder, uses its dimensional layers not just as "bigger space" but as higher conceptual states of existence.

Third Dimension (The Multiverse): This is our familiar infinite collection of universes, each with its own space and time.

Sphere of the Gods: This realm transcends the concepts of space and time of the individual universes. New Gods viewing mortal universes as "bubbles" or mere "atoms" isn't just a size difference; it's a qualitative difference in existence. Their reality operates on a higher conceptual plane where the laws of the 3rd Dimension don't fully apply. Think of it less as being "larger" in volume and more as being "more real" or fundamental.

Fourth Dimension (Monitor Sphere): This is another step up. The Monitors view the entire 3rd-dimensional Multiverse (the infinite universes and the Sphere of the Gods within it) as a mere "germ" or a "fiction." This isn't just a size difference; it's a difference in ontological status. The Monitors exist at a level where the Multiverse they observe is like a tiny, contained construct to them. They perceive its entirety as a singular, small thing.

Fifth Dimension (Imagination): The 5th Dimension, home of the Imps like Mr. Mxyzptlk, explicitly transcends the 4th Dimension. It's the realm of pure imagination where concepts instantly manifest as reality. To a 5th Dimensional being, the entire Multiverse and its Monitors are like a story being played out, a mere thought. Their powers derive from being closer to the raw conceptual fabric of reality.

Sixth Dimension: This is the realm of Multiverse-forging, where beings like Perpetua and the World Forger design and construct Multiverses. This is a realm of ultimate possibility and meta-creation within the larger Omniverse. It conceptually dwarfs the 5th Dimension, which in turn dwarfs the 4th, and so on.

Key takeaway for DC: The jump between each "dimension" or "layer" isn't just about volume; it's about a fundamental shift in the nature of reality, perception, and power. Each layer views the one below it as increasingly insignificant, akin to fiction or a mere idea.

Marvel's Multiversal Scaling - Emphasis on Scale and Hierarchy:

Marvel also has immense scale, but its "layers" often feel more like increasingly vast domains or more fundamental building blocks, rather than explicit conceptual transcendence where one layer views the one below as "fiction."

Third Dimensional Multiverse: Infinite universes, each potentially infinite in size.

Superflow/Neutral Zone: These are the spaces between the universes. They are vast and complex, containing abstract concepts, but they are still essentially part of the same Multiversal structure.

The Beyond Realm: This is a crucial point for Marvel's scale. The Beyonders, even after Secret Wars II was retconned in terms of their origin, are still presented as beings from "beyond" the Multiverse, capable of manipulating it on a grand scale. While the "droplet of water" metaphor was initially from Secret Wars II, the sense of them being vastly superior to the Multiverse they interact with remains. Their realm exists outside of and dwarfs the Multiverse.

White Hot Room: As the remnant of the First Cosmos and the Phoenix's true home, it exists outside the current Multiverse's cycles of destruction and rebirth. It's primordial and immensely powerful, transcending the Multiverse.

House of Ideas: This is the absolute conceptual wellspring. It contains all ideas, all stories, and thus all of existence. It's the "mind" of the One Above All.

Where the Difference Lies:

Explicit Hierarchical Perception: DC explicitly shows entities from higher dimensions perceiving lower dimensions as fundamentally less real or significant (germs, bubbles, fiction, thoughts). This qualitative difference is consistently portrayed.

"Bounded" Infinity vs. Recursive Infinity: While both have infinite universes, DC introduces the concept of infinite Multiverses within the Omniverse, with each of those Multiverses having its own nested hierarchy. This "infinity of infinities" (or rather, "infinity of sets of infinities"wink adds a layer of conceptual vastness that Marvel's current main cosmology, focused on a single iterating Multiverse, doesn't always replicate at the same scale. While some fan interpretations for Marvel argue for recursive infinities, it's not as explicitly stated or consistently portrayed in the narrative as in DC's modern run.

Conclusion on "Bigger Scale" within a Single Multiverse:

Even within a single Multiverse (like Perpetua's creation in DC), DC often portrays a more profoundly tiered and qualitatively transcendent hierarchy. The explicit statements of higher dimensions viewing lower ones as increasingly insignificant (germs, fiction, thoughts) creates a sense of boundless layers of ontological superiority that isn't as consistently or explicitly presented in Marvel, even with its own powerful cosmic realms.

While Marvel's highest realms (House of Ideas, White Hot Room) are immensely powerful and conceptual, the narrative doesn't always give us characters within them expressing the same kind of extreme, qualitative dismissal of the Multiverse below them that DC's 4th, 5th, and 6th dimensional beings do. The Beyonders are an exception in Marvel with their explicit disregard for the Multiverse, but DC layers this perception across multiple tiers.

MrMind
Eonymous:

Nature: These are often presented as the ultimate "audience" or "readers" of the DC Universe. They are depicted as small, yellow, alien-like beings watching the events of the DC Multiverse on a screen (a literal representation of us, the readers, consuming the stories).

Position: They are at the very top. Their "interest" dictates the continued existence of the DC narrative. If they lose interest, the story is "cancelled." This means they exist above the Overvoid, above the Presence, above all creation, because their engagement is the ultimate fuel for it all. They represent the metaphysical explanation for why DC Comics exists and changes.

Final Heaven (and The Retconn Corporation):

Nature: This is the "office space" or "control room" where the "God of Superheroes" (often interpreted as a stand-in for the writers/editors) and the Retconn Corporation operate. They are responsible for maintaining, rebooting, and creating the DC continuity.

Position: Final Heaven exists directly to serve the Eonymous. It's the mechanism through which the Eonymous's desires are translated into comic book reality. This realm contains the "buttons" to reboot entire continuities (like the New 52) and views the Overvoid and all creation as something they can manipulate or even "wipe." It's often implied to be "outside of all things save one" (the Eonymous).

The Overvoid / The Primal Monitor: Still the fundamental blank canvas, but now understood as being a creation or a concept that can be manipulated by the beings in Final Heaven at the behest of the Eonymous.

The Great Darkness: The primordial opposing force, still immense, but ultimately part of the narrative governed by the higher meta-levels.

The Omniverse / The Presence's Creation (containing infinite Multiverses):

Chronicler / Fuginaut's Realm: (As previously discussed, traveling between distinct Multiverses.)

Infinite Multiverses: (Each a distinct cosmic construct like Perpetua's, with its own internal hierarchies.)

The Sixth Dimension (Multiverse-forging)

The Fifth Dimension (Imagination)

The Fourth Dimension (The Monitor Sphere / Limbo) (Observers of a Multiverse)

The Sphere of the Gods (The Bleed) (Divine realms within a Multiverse)

The Third Dimensional Infinite Universes (The DC Multiverse) (Individual universes)

Revised and Expanded Order (Top to Bottom, incorporating meta-layers):

The Eonymous: (The ultimate "readers" / audience; their attention fuels all of existence.)

Final Heaven / The Retconn Corporation: (The "control room" where the "God of Superheroes" / writers operate, directly serving the Eonymous; they can reboot or erase the entire cosmology below them.)

The Overvoid / The Primal Monitor: (The fundamental blank canvas/void, but one that can be manipulated or even "wiped" by Final Heaven.)

The Great Darkness: (Primordial anti-force, a fundamental aspect of the "story" on the deepest level.)

The Omniverse / The Presence's Creation (containing infinite Multiverses):

Chronicler / Fuginaut's Realm (Entities that travel between distinct Multiverses.)

Infinite Multiverses (Each a distinct cosmic construct, like "Perpetua's Multiverse," containing its own internal hierarchy.)

The Sixth Dimension (Multiverse-forging realm within a specific Multiverse.)

The Fifth Dimension (Realm of imagination within a specific Multiverse.)

The Fourth Dimension (The Monitor Sphere / Limbo) (Observational layer for a specific Multiverse.)

The Sphere of the Gods (The Bleed) (Higher-dimensional realms of deities within a specific Multiverse.)

The Third Dimensional Infinite Universes (The DC Multiverse) (The collection of individual universes like Earth-0.)

This updated hierarchy demonstrates how DC Comics has, at times, directly incorporated the real-world act of comic book creation and consumption into its fictional cosmology, making its ultimate "top" layers truly meta and conceptually boundless.
