That ship is so much like the X Wing. They love to bridge the two trilogies together really well in ROTS

(that's not to say i don't believe you.. i just think it's dumb that part of the alliance fleet's fighter design came from one half of the republic while the bad guy ships came from the other half of the republic, where in the OT they were NOTHING alike..)
