I reckon something along the lines of Star Wars: Galactic Conquest or Reign Of Order or something like that.........

Empire At War is fine but sounds stupid when you say it "Star Wars: Empire At War".

The new TIE-Tank looks great.

Empire at War sounds alright, id accept that, but Galactic Conquest does sound pretty good.

I was just thinking the other day that someone should make a star wars game with space battles exactly like this game.

Star war games are usually always garbage. The best star war games i have played are shadows of the empire, Rogue squadren, and knights of the old republic. Those are the only star wars games worth playing. All others are either half assed or just completely ridiculous. Not to mention loaded with bugs and glitches, every time i play a star wars game, it always seems that i end up walking up or into walls, and have to reset. Sometimes you just get caught in walls. The stories of some star wars games are so blatantly idiotic, it is hard to fathom why star wars is so popular. Jedi academy is the prime example of how terrible a video game expirence can be. Valley of the jedi, force stealing rods, what kind of shit is this? Why must i always have to search for endless switches and hope to stumble across invisible doors that blend into the enviorment to complete a mission? mad mad

There has been already two Star Wars RTS. Their was the horrible Force Commader and the decent Age Of Empires rip off Galatic Battlegrounds

I am actually looking forward to galactic commando's I am getting sick of the redundancy in star wars games though. Kotor actually braved new territory in not including storm troopers. If star wars is such a broad universe in literature, why can it not be be as grand in the video game world. It is always the same stories, with the same half assed game design.

True. Star Wars are somewhat lacking. I tried Empire Divided, and that last about 2 minutes.
Commando's looks alright, nothing really good about it. I've only enjoyed Jedi Knight.

I haven't been into Star Wars RTS games, all the others I've ever played or have:-) But Galaxies was a huge AoE spinoff. Maybe I'll look into it.

I wouldnt think an AT-AT on Naboo would be out of context. Its a fantasy setting, they could do anything they want. Also, the Empire conquered the galaxie so I would assume that they did the same with Naboo.

The empire tried to take over Naboo shortly after ep2. they might have tried taking over it again during this time frame, but who knows and who cares!

So this game looks likes its just going to be the empire and the alliance as we know and love. hopefully, no gungans!

I cant wait to try the space combat, hopefully 3d space combat wont be as difficult to master!

Online play is going to be SWEEEEEEEEEET!!!

I dont think it would be very easy to make a Star Wars RTS in space... I'm thinking at most it would be like starcraft and have ships but fly them on the planets. No real space battles with star destroyers, calamari crusiers and fighters.

This topic can most definitely use a bump. As we approach closer and closer to February, I grow more and more anticipatory of this great game. <3 <3

And Machete Guy, it's a RTS, but that doesn't mean it's a knock off. o_O;

By that logic, I could say BfME was a knock off of War Craft III, which was a knock off a StarCraft, which was a knock off of War Craft I and II, or like saying Halo is a knock off of Doom.

They're the same genre of game, but they're way, way different.

Also, keep in mind that EaW takes place on a scale about twenty times the size of BfME, and that the battles in space will be taking place in three dimensions as opposed to two.

Still, if it's true it would be interesting to see how they balance it, though I guess in reality the Empire vs. Rebels wasn't the most balanced conflict in fiction history.

Well I got the game and have been playing many hours with a friend now on multiplayer. Many of our campaigns against eachother has had terrible ends, as we didn't know some of the things that activated a defeat. If Mon Mothma dies, the Rebels loose, regardlass of how many planets they have or how big fleets. Same goes for The Empire with The Emperor. If the Death Star is destroyed then the empire also loses.

Can someone who has the game tell me a little about it, like the heros and battles and stuff. I played the game and I was hugley disappointed, I found the space battles boring and they lacked of strategy, more like "the one with biggest army wins". And the ground battles was nothing compared to BFME for example. The graphics didn't impress me either.
I was really looking forward to this game, can anyone who has the full game convince me that it's good and worth to buy?

Ok I've been playing for the last few hours...

The space battles are unbelievably fun. Most fun I've had in a RTS. I havent played through for long but hero wise, Empire gets Vader and Boba flying around (Boba is awesome, he decimates any small fighter squads and can take on a cruiser or two) and Rebels get Han/Chewie and Luke...havent used them yet but I've faced them, they seem alright. Damn its awesome, both players get a space station, objective is to destroy the other person's station. Basically you can pwn easily using the Rebels, just mass build Xwings, shoot an Ion to disable it, and then shoot the crap outta the station. Thats the only downside I've seen so far, its too easy to take down the Empire if you spam with Xwings. The Empire on the other hand have pissy Ties that do nothing, so you have to build a few Star Destroyers and so on.

Basically, space battles always go: build a couple of squad fighters, control the resource points and defence stations, then build squads/upgrade until you can storm the enemy. I agree, theres not a lot of strategy involved. So far I've had a few matches on Easy, and a few on Normal, and the latter has been the most fun because you dont get a lot of time to plan before you get attacked. I wish there was a bit more focus on the strategy side of it, but its still fun. I do like the reinforcement side of it though, its a lot more fun when you can send in a squad of fighters from anywhere and cut off the enemy, rather than building barracks and so on.

Ground battles so far havent impressed me, they seem like usual RTS battles. But Im in it for the Star Wars side of it rather than the gameplay side, so Im still having fun.

You should probably hire the game, give it a good thrashing and then see if you want to buy it. Otherwise you might be disappointed if you're looking for a good RTS. If you're a mad Star Wars fan though, pick it up, its awesome fun when you get to play through campaign missions. I'd give it a run through online as well, at least you'll find a challenge rather than the fairly average CPU players.

I picked this up today, its my first RTS, I played the first 5 tutorials, I like it. stick out tongue

My computer isnt much, so the game doesnt look that great. roll eyes (sarcastic)

I played a Galactic Conquest match (against NPC's) and it took my like 2 hours... and I didn't even finish!

It was epic, to say the least.

Where do you get the patch from? I hope it fixes the Alt Tab problem, the game shuts down with an error if I try and minimize iterm Anyone else have that problem?

It looks soo good, and I remember I loved the old strategy games like Red Alert and Command and Conquer.... But I'm saving up for a 360 and two games. Is it worth it that much?

ive been playing this game a good bit, and I feel like its going to get old fast. I dont see this having the replayability of a red alert or star craft (sorry to go old school but I could play those for ever) A cool game for sure but I am finding myself less and less interested in continuing the game.

That's what I thought after doing a couple skirmishes... but then I tried out Galactic Conquest and really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It might get old within a few weeks, but I haven't even started the campaign yet, which is supposed to be quite long. Then, of course, when I exhaust all of it's use from these game types, I can do multiplayer with my buds. All in all, it'll probably last me a while.

ive only done campaign so far, and its gotten way to easy. Very quickly ive gotten what seems to be an umlimited money supply. WHile it is pretty long and involved, I fear by the end of it ill never wanna play again.

Campaign is definitely the way to go thumb up Right now Im up to invading Jabiim (Empire), but as I said about running short of cash, I cant build any decent armies erm I earn about $6000 a day, and the Victory SD's cost $3000, so Im pretty crap right nowerm And the bastard Rebels keep attacking me at random so all my resources are spread out.

When you guys build smugglers, send them to Nal Hutta, Bespin, and Naboo and you get awesome credit earnings, I was getting $650 from Nal Hutta the other day.

yea beat it tonight, very uneventfull an easy. I realised I did a lot of extra work that wasnt needed. Just stick to the missions and it goes quick. Basicly the deathstar just appeard and then quickly after game ends. Only challenge was the hon solo / chewy mission on land. but even that wasnt too bad.

I say it's worth it if you enjoyed EoW. Forces of Corruption adds so many new things. Playing as Zann is awesome with so many new ways to win. This thing fixed everything that was wrong with the first one. Like just facing one enemy which was fun but it got old sooner or later but now you have two foes to face. Plus the Super Star Destroyer alone is worth it.

Nah, havent been interested enough. The game stuffed up, and now it wont load any old save games, so I basicaly have to start campaign again, and skirmish mode is pure shit, the AI does nothing except leave 2 squads of fighters flying around its base.
