What's With All The Kids In The Prequels?

Has anybody noticed that in the OT there is not a single young child that has any dialogue, action, etc.

But in the new PT they are all over the place. What's the deal?

George Lucas must have a new fondness for children because they helped make him rich. laughing

In fact, I don't think a young child even appears at all in the classic trilogy. Not even a cameo! huh

Well, that's because he's showing what it was like in the Republic days. Most of the children we see are Jedi, which is another thing he wished to convey to us.
In the OT, a lot of the settings are either too filled with military or scum for children. More than likely during the Empire's time, everyone is clinging to their child, and living in fear.
And hey man, there were Ewok children lol
