This is a re-make of Harry Potter, only him and his mates arent magic. His best friends are still called Ron and Hermione, and Ron's still his ginger jokey self and Hermione's still obsessed with books, but like i said, they arent magic.

Here goes:

"Get up! Get up!!!"
Harry Potter woke up, his foster mum was shouting at him to go to breakfast.
"I'm up, I'm up!"
It was Harry Potter first year of Whitburn Senior School, and his heart was thudding. He wasnt all that great at school, and didnt have many friends. Actually, "not many" is a huge understatement. Harry Potter had no friends, thanks to the Primary school bully, Sam Carmen.
Harry was a small weedy boy of eleven, with jet black hair, glasses and a pale complexion, making Sam pick on him and beat him up. It was not only his appearance that Harry got bullied for, it was the fact that he had no parents.
They both died in a freak car accident when Harry was just two. He spent most of his life in the orphanage, with only one friend, who got adopted when they were six, and Harry never saw his friend again. He was alone most of the time after that. But when he was nine, Harry met a nice couple, named Irene and Tommy Parker. They made good friends with him, but did not adopt him until Harry's tenth birthday.

"hey honey, sleep well? Your breakfast is on the table, it's pancakes with syrup, your favourite." Irene beamed, then added in undertone: "I know you're nervous about starting your new school, and i know it's boarding, but we just want the best education for you"
Harry nodded and made his way to the table.
"Alright son?" Tommy grinned. He always called Harry 'son', Harry figured it was so he felt like one of the family, a real blood member, and he appreicated it a lot.
"Yeah, but new school, new kids, new teachers, i feel sort of nervous" Harry mumbled. He didnt like to come across as a wimp.
"It's alright, you'll be fine"
"Thanks Dad"
Tommy beamed at Harry; he had started to call him Dad and he felt warm inside every time he heard Harry call him that.
Harry pollished off his breakfast and went upstairs to get cleaned and pack his bag.
At 8:30 Tommy and Irene drove Harry to the train station, and got there at 9:10; Harry had to board the train at 9:30.
And there was his train, gleaming crimson with the words The Whitburn Express.
"Come on Harry, you best find a seat straight away, others are already in the compartments!" Irene said. "We'll helop you find one" Harry wasnt embarresed when his foster parents found him an empty compartment; all the kids' parents were doing it.

"okay, see you honey!" Irene said.
"You can come home evry other weekend" Tommy assured him.
Harry smiled and waved goodbye as they stood on the platform.
Bye Irene, bye Tommy Harry thought Look after me mum, dad.
"Is it, uh, okay if i sit here with you?" a ginger haired boy was standing in the doorway.
"Yeah, fine." Harry said. "What's your name?"
"Ron, Ron Weasley"the boy said. "And your's?"
"Harry Potter"
"This your first year?" Ron sat down opposite Harry.
"Yeah"
"Me too."

i like to write a little bit at a time

"Do you like footie?" Ron asked.
"Yeah! What team Do you support?" Harry grinned.
The two boys talked deeply about football, and when Ron was demonstrating a goal, a tall-ish girl with brown bushy hair walked into the compartment.

"Has anyone seen a hamster? A boy named Neville's lost one." She asked. "Argh, are you talking about football? Every compartment i've been into that contains boys, the talk is football!"
Ron and Harry raised their eyebrows at her.
"Havent seen it. And there's nothing wrong with football" Ron said.
"And you are? I dont suppose you have any right to judge what i think." Hermione glared at them.
"I'm Ron. No, i dont think i do, but i can say what i think about it."

"Whatever. Have you seen one?" she turned to Harry.
"Nope." he said. "Bye bye." He added.
"Hmmf!! You'd better change into your school things, we're nearly there. And, uh, Ron? You have dirt on your nose, did you know?"
Ron rubbed his nose and when Hermione left, he made a rude gesture with his hands.

They changed into their school jackets and ties(both black with a blue badge-the ocean).
Harry and Ron split what was left of their sweets and pocketed the paper bags.
Soon enough, the train pulled up to a would-be dark station, the street lights lit.
"Firs' tears, over 'ere please, firs' years!" a huge man was shouting over the crowds.
"C'mon Harry" Ron said "Before we knocked down by the people!"
"Hello, I'm Hagrid, Reubeus Hagrid" the tall man said as he had approximately 180 first year students milling around him. "Are yer all 'ere?"
"Hagrid! Hagrid!!" a tall, wrinkly woman made her way towards them.
"Professer McGonagal!!" Hagrid cried.

---yeah, i cant think of anything to call them that wouldnt be one of your regular names(eg smith, brown stuff like that. ie: not very imagineitave stuff). a few i may have to change. in the story it tells what all the teachers teach. but later on, maybe in the next few days. it's set in sept 2005, and a day to us is a day to them most of the time. they arrived on a friday btw, so they have the weekend totally free. i'll go into explanation of charactors and stuff then---

"Oh, do stop it!" Hermione said. "They look at your personal record, ask you a few questions and sort you into a house"

It turned out Hermiopne was right. Partly anyway.
"When i call your name, come and stand here" McGonagal said "Lucy Ashwell!" a small dark-haired girl stepped forward. McGonagal read her CV and said: "Ravenclaw!"
And so this went on, and Harry and Ron entertained themselves by playing Rock, Paper, Scisors.
"Hermione Granger!" once again she(McG i'll call her from now on- McGonagal that is) studied the information on the sheet in front of her and harry and ron payed attention. "Gryfindor!"
Ron and Harry zoned out again.
"Harry Potter"

Harry stumbled forwards.
"Hmm.......i see, yes, yes.......hard, maybe? But no...ok, ok, Gryfindor!!"
Harry joined the Gryfindor table.
"Congrats" said a ginger bot oppisite him. He looked exactly like Ron, but he had glasses.
"This is Percy. Take no notice of him." another ginger boy said.
"I'm Fred" yet another ginger boy said. "and i suppose you guessed that this is my twin bruv. He's-"
"I'm George. Thats our little bro there" the second ginger haired boy said, pointing to Ron.

Heards of men and woman came and lay platters down on each table, the platters full of deliosios looking food. Ron wasted no time in stuffing his face. He dug in as soon as the waiter putting down a plate of sunday lunch in front of him had gone.

Everybody in the hall scrambled out of the great oak doors.
"Gryfindors follow me please! This way, Gryfindor first year, please, thank you!" Ron's brother Percy called.
All of the first years followed Percy obediantly out of the great hall.

Percy said these things instill the finally reached a huge hall with escalators everywhere.
"This is the most direct path to the dormitories. Follow me"
They followed him up three flights of escalators and then went through a corridor full of pictures of people and animals. They followed him over to a particularly large portrait of a fat lady in a pink dress. Percy pressed the lady's large diamond in her ring and the portrait swung open to reveal a wooden door, which Percy led them through.
"Welcome to the Gryfindor Common Room" Percy announced. "Girls dormitories up the staircase on the left, boys, the same on your right. No getting up after hours. You are forbidden to leave the dormitory after 8pm. Okay? The toilets are through that door there." he pointed to another door. "Now, you can either stay here and chat among yourselves, or go to bed."
Most of the pupils stayed in the Common Room, Harry and Ron among them.

It was luchtime, and everyone was in the Great Hall eating and chatting about the first morning.
"Well, maths was pretty boring" Ron said.
"At least it was easy," Harry pointed out.
"Our English teacher's a cow" Dean, Harry and Ron's new friend (who was in their maths class), said.

Hermione, who was sitting oppisite Dean, said, "You know, you should be more careful. You shouldn't really badmouth the teachers. If you got caught you could be in big trouble. And you shouldn't badmouth them anyway. If they weren't here you wouldn't even be in this school." Hermione put some food on her plate.
"And I would be heartbroken if I wasn't here." Ron shot back.
"Hmmf!! Well, you wouldn't know Harry, or Dean, or anyone else who you met so far." Hermione retaliated.
"Well, I would die if I hadn't met you." Ron said sarcastically.
Hermione just ignored him and buried her nose into her new book.

All three boys stared at her with a "What the Heck?" look on their faces. Harry was the first to recover.
"Anyway, what's next?"
"Science" Dean answered.
Ron swallowed some chicken and grinned.
"Do you think we'll blow something up?!" he said excitedly.
"Hopefully," Dean grinned.

Everyone filed into the Science classroom, and sat at a desk with a partner. Harry was with Ron. Everyone was chatting with each other and laughing.
"Silence." came a voice from the door, seconds after it closed. "I am Professor Snape."
Everyone fell silent, and twisted their heads to see a pale man with a hooked nose, greasy, lank hair, pale skin and almost black eyes.
"There will be no talking in this class, unless it is to answer a question or reading from a book. Now," Snape glared at everyone in the class, "I see you think you choose who you sit with. You were wrong. I choose. Gryfindors, up to the front. Now, when I read you name, sit at your assigned desk."
Snape read out several names and numbers, and after much scrambling, all of the Slytherins were seated.
"Now, Gryfindors." Snape spat Gryfindor like it was a swear word.Once again, he read out numerous names and numbers. Harry was paired with Hermione. He was slightly put out but at least he knew her. She seemed happy to be with Harry. When he was seated, Harry could see Hermione's face clearly, and he realised she was pretty, despite her rather large front teeth.
"This term, you shall be doing your homework with your assigned partner. Your topics are based on..." Once again, Harry zoned out. He was glad he was with Hermione; she was listing intently. Her hand was up for every question, and whenever asked, she was right.
"Perhaps Mr. Potter could tell us, since he has been paying so much attention." Snape said, glaring at Harry as if he was a particularly disgusting piece of muck on his shoe. Harry had no idea of the question. Hermione's hand was in the air, waving around in hope to be asked.
"I don't know, sir," Harry muttered.
"What was that?" Snape's lip was curling. Harry knew he had heard, but he wanted to make sure the whole class heard.
"I don't know, sir!" Harry said so loudly, he was almost yelling.
"5 points from Gryfindor for shouting, Mr Potter."
"What?!" Harry cried.
"5 more points for back answering, cheek and excessive noise."
Harry already loathed Snape. Hermione looked at him sympathetically.

Okay, let's pretend they're not 11, but 13. Is that the age Americans go into High School?

okay so they're 14. Just coz the relationship will go better...I mean, I wasn't gonna put them with each other at eleven, was I?

The rest of the class went by slowly. When everyone was finally allowed to go out for break, Harry was bored out of his mind.
"Hey, Harry,coming!?" Ron called to him, a football in his arms.
"Yeah, I just need to go to the bathroom!" Harry called back.
"Okay!"
After Harry and done what he did (lol), he washed his hands and went into the corridor. When he turned the corner, he bumped into Hermione.
"Oh, sorry." Harry couldn't help but notice how pretty she was, close up.
"It's alright. We best be going," Hermione gestured behind her.
"Yeah." Harry said, but made no effort to go, same as Hermione. She smiled at him. "Hey, Hermione...do you...do you wanna come to the movies with me next weekend?"
"Sure, that'd be great!" she smiled and blushed. "Saturday?"
"Sounds fun."

The next week snailed by as Harry willed Saturday to come quicker. It didn't.
It was now Friday, and Harry was extremely nervous.
'What if I do something wrong? What if she blushed because she doesn't like me that way, and just didn't want to turn me down?' Harry thought frantically in Religious Education. He wasn't paying attention at all, just copying sentences out of a book onto his paper. Eventually, the bell rang.

sorry, guys. I just don't really wanna write this very much. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to change it to a multi fic? Like everyone writes? I htink that would be good, and I'd still write, but it's not out fast enough anymore
