well, i saw it about 11 hours ago now, and sorry i was too tired to chime in...

many of you know, i really hated eps 1 and 2, and have been very cinical about this...

but you guys are going to totally spaz out when you see this!!!!
the CGI is totally awsome (take into consideration that i thought the CGI of the other two looked like a video game), great opening....

the lightsabre fights are infinatley better...

this film made up for alot... alot of loose ends are tied up quite nicley (a couple news left behind, but you can't make an omlet, yadda yadda yadda)...

OVERALL you guys are in for a total treat!

although, and you'll hate me for saying this...
i really didn't like Darth Vader in this at all. i was utterly appauled, and i find that heart breaking... but otherwise it was worth being here at work with insufficient sleep.

Obiwan kicks major ass BTW. as does the emporer...

you've only got four hours to go...

first at 20hrs and the second (only for the crew of the cinema) at 23hrs

it's a combined effort... Palpatine fights him, but mace gets the better, anikan chops his arm off, then palpy zaps him out a window....

I went to a Greater Union cinema... the place was packed, we got there at around 10:20 and the line was already stretched to the entrance to cinema 12 (we were in cinema 8) Luckily my brother found a friend of his, who had been waiting there for 2 hours when we got there. It was worth staying up late and skipping school.

i didn't think to skip work the next day...

now i wish a had...

The emotion that they both conveyed was great even before they started fighting. The opening couple of minutes was crazy, they must have sped it up because those sabers were a blur. I expected more talking because of what i'd heard but it was just right. It was inter-cut with Yoda and Palpatine as well and even though i liked that it did take you out of the moment, but that is a Star Wars trademark when dealing with battles. I didnt mind the hoover crafts that they fought on although i did hear a couple of muted groans from the audience (wankers) and when Obi Wan tells Anakin to yield because he had the high ground i knew it was all over (from playing the video game). Obi Wan really conveyed alot of despair in his speech to Anakin as he lay there and when Anakin screams "i hate you" it didnt even sound like the character we know. The burning Anakin wasnt that graphic IMO, which im glad about because i want to take my son and was worried about that part. Seeing the Emperor kneeling by his fallen apprentice was a really powerful image and it really puts into perspective how loyal Vader is to his master after that. He really saved his life (for his own reasons of course). Skill wise i would say that Anakin started off with the upper hand as Obi Wan seemed surprised how powerful Anakin was with the aid of the darkside. But being the resourceful character he is Obi Wan comes back into it towards the end. All in all it didnt disappoint me and after waiting nearly 30 yrs and all the hype thats an achievement in itself.

What I didn't like about the lightsaber battles was the use of closeups... all you could really see were lightsabers flashing across the screen.

I'd much rather see wider shots. It wasn't all the time, but I think there were far too many close up shots...

Yeah i know what you mean, i really wanted more wide shots in the Obi Wan and Grievous duel. I mean come on 4 sabers has never been done.

The violent and sexually deviant films these days such as Revenge of the Sith are terrifyingly morally vacuous and the pornographic proliferation amongst pubescetizing youngsters makes them terrifying.

It must be censored. If this is prudisdh, I don't care. It's how I feel.

Yeah, that duel was a bit dissapointing.

Another thing that bothered me was when Dooku throws Obi Wan. It looks so fake when Obi Wan hits the rail. And then when the bridge falls on him... its just weird, and unrealistic.

The "Nooo!" didn't bother me too much the first time but on my second viewing I couldn't stop myself from chuckling... which is unfortunate.

I noticed some lines were cut... for example Dooku's "Just becuase there are two of you do not think you have the advantage", and Yoda's "My new master... and your old one" or something.

i cracked up with the 'nooooo' thing, but i didn't mind it. it reminded me of the old b-grade horror movies, esp. frankenstein

great effects, story well in the middle, overall the best of the prequels but aint nothing near the original trilogy. Certain things pissed me off in it. Grievous dude was laughable what a joke of a character

Yeah i like that Dooku line. He is so smug he talks to them like they are kids. I love the way he says "your swords please gentlemen, we dont want to make a mess in front of the chancellor" its like hes about to send Obi Wan and Anakin to bed without any dinner.
