Since both these characters exist within the Capcom franchise it's not entirely improbable that they could, with a great deal of creativity, meet up and duke it out. But who would come out on top undisputed?

See Dante's half demon. Samanosuke fights demons like Nobunaga. Nobunaga would own Dante. So Samanosuke wins.

Dante has guns no offense to samanoske even though he's bad ass wouldn't he die in one shot ? but still samonoske does have better sword skillls although Dante isn't a chump in sword skills samonoske would give him a hard time but never the less Dante would pwn him

a little off topic Dawn of Dreams LOOKS BAD ASS MAN I mean the voice acting , althought in japanese IS FRIGGEN AWESOME
