Until the silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Calagari, the idea of a moving camera was stupidus.

Blue screens, CGI, digital film-making...

How will we be shooting the movies of tomorrow?

I personaly hope the only tool we will be using is a small box.
You place it in the desired room to shoot, turn it on, and have your actors do their thing. It would then recored every action/sound in a 360 degree radius of it.
From there you would digatize your footage into some editing software, and after which you could chose stuff like camera angles and lighting in post production.

the idea, good, the expected results, over the top. the idea is a good one but the box would only be able to record things around it, the box would have to move to be able to have moving shots, irrelevent of if an actor walks past the box. the image would flex as it walked past

Well, that idea is decent. First off, that type of technology would be far off. Also it would take away from the types of shots that make movies what they are. traditional filmaking will never change. Nothing beats a Director who strives and searches for that golden shot. Angles set the mood.
