Has anyone else noticed the uncanny number of similarities between these 2 franchises? Think about it, both of them have:

A young blonde teenage hero whose father was a knight in a war before the determination of the world's government, and who was left as a baby to be raised by a surrogate family, unaware of his true identity

A mystical glowing sword from the past

A princess with powers of clarvoyance

A huge universe of characters

A divine force of unlimited power

Does anyone else think this all might be a little too coincidental?

shadow12
not really

sith_darth_jay
not at all

TrAnCeDuO
nope...none of those are specific enough. but if it makes you feel better youll be happy to know that star wars is nothing but a plaguarism of a samurai movie.

SaTsuJiN
princess leia, nor padme were clairevoyant

Darth Jello
the only similarity I see is that both Luke and Link are blond, left-handed heroes

No, I do not think these are more than coincedences. They are too vague.

Zatch_Bell

1- The hero always comes from a significant family. He always grows up without knowing who he really is. (e.g. Spider-Man, Harry Potter)

2- The mystical weapon appears in most tales ( e.g. Excalibur, the Whichblade, Narsil from LOTR)

3- Errm, Leia is not a clarvoyant, she just has hidden Force capabilities. However the female character is often atributed with psychic powers ( encountered in the Marvel Universe, or in ancient legends - Oracle of Delphi)

4- Same in Lord of the Rings, Marvel Universe, Narnia... what, do you want the character to interract only with him/herself???

5- Like the power of God? That one`s just inspired from man`s predispositon of believing in forces mightier than he.

Darth Jello
1. That was only the hero of time, I currently count 7 other Links at the moment. the only thing they have in common is the same general clothes, a common ancestry, a predesposition for the triforce of courage, and left-handedness

2. There's more than one mystical weapon, you've got the master sword, the Fierce Deity's Blade, the Great Fairy Sword, the Four Sword, etc.

3. all 8 of the Zeldas' powers go far beyond clairvoyance

4. what doesn't have this?

5. The Triforce is immensley powerful, but it's a speck compared from to the godesses that created it, and even one who has the complete triforce can be killed with silver arrows

If you'd watch the full star wars saga you'd see that none of this matches up nor do Ganon, Dethl, Majora, Veran, Onox, Twinrova, Vaati, or any of the other villians have anything in common with Vader and the rest.
