While most of these threads are dedicated to the new generation of actors, i thought we should have at least one dedicated to one of the greatest living actors ever (in my opinion)...Sir Christopher Lee, he is without a doubt my all time favourite actor ever since i first saw him in 'A Feast at Midnight', although confined to bad guy roles, with his most notable performances have been Scramanga - In Man With The Golden Gun, Sauron in Lord of the Rings, Count Dooku in Star Wars, Lord Summerilse in The Wicker Man and of course Dracula, who i believe is the ultimate dracula incarnation.

In fact he holds the world record for appearing in more films then any other actor (223 film and televison apperances to be precise)

Not bad for someone appearing in to of the biggest franchises ever (i.e. LotR & Star Wars) at the ripe old age of 92, although im pretty annoyed that they cut his scenes from RotK which means im going to have to splash out 40 or so pound for the RotK EE when it eventually reachesour shores.

However despite these big budget performances i will always place his performance as the creepy Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man despite him not using brute force, gratious language, catchy one liners or mystical powers he still created a rather chilling atmosphere.

On the same note he was also great in his various roles in various Hammer Horror productions most notably as Dracula in various outings Lee's Dracula Vs Price's Van Helsing were brilliant, another legendary bad guy he assumed the role of was Moriarty long time nemesis of Sherlock Holmes and of course his role as Rasputin was equally as brilliant. He creates a atmosphere to all his creations that is unique.

One of the greatest.

OMG he's 92 years old??? Damn! Yeh he's a pretty cool bad guy.

I didn't know he was 92 either...Wow...I've only seen him as Scaramanga, Sarumon and Dooku. After AOTC I asked my parents about him. My Dad said he was the BEST Dracula ever but I've never seen it.
I often thought of how amazing it must be for him; to be involved in both Lord Of The Rings & Star Wars, how lucky is that!! At least we'll see him in Ep III.

Joy2dWorld
I'd rather go for the Mr. Bean guy!

hep- hep- hooray! for Mr. Bean!

I decided to make this thread to honour the best actor of our generation and generations past - Christopher Lee. From his early work as Count Dracula to his latest box office hits as Saruman and Count Dooku, Mr Lee certainly has one of the most distinguished careers of any actor alive. So feel free to post your comments and say what you love about him. big grin

A hollywood icon great actor he done an outstanding job as saruman in LOTR

bakerboy
He is now 84 , not 92.

A true cinema legend, and a hammer icon and horror movies icon. The sad thing is that the new generations only knows him in the star wars movies and the lord of the rings movies, when he was a truly movie icon in the hammers films playing dracula, fumanchu, the mummy or creature of frankenstein and many others characters in those horror movies, beasides many villains in another movies like the man with the golden gun and movies like the private life of Sherlock Holmes.
