While most of these threads are dedicated to the new generation of actors, i thought we should have at least one dedicated to one of the greatest living actors ever (in my opinion)...Sir Christopher Lee, he is without a doubt my all time favourite actor ever since i first saw him in 'A Feast at Midnight', although confined to bad guy roles, with his most notable performances have been Scramanga - In Man With The Golden Gun, Sauron in Lord of the Rings, Count Dooku in Star Wars, Lord Summerilse in The Wicker Man and of course Dracula, who i believe is the ultimate dracula incarnation.
In fact he holds the world record for appearing in more films then any other actor (223 film and televison apperances to be precise)
Not bad for someone appearing in to of the biggest franchises ever (i.e. LotR & Star Wars) at the ripe old age of 92, although im pretty annoyed that they cut his scenes from RotK which means im going to have to splash out 40 or so pound for the RotK EE when it eventually reachesour shores.
However despite these big budget performances i will always place his performance as the creepy Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man despite him not using brute force, gratious language, catchy one liners or mystical powers he still created a rather chilling atmosphere.
On the same note he was also great in his various roles in various Hammer Horror productions most notably as Dracula in various outings Lee's Dracula Vs Price's Van Helsing were brilliant, another legendary bad guy he assumed the role of was Moriarty long time nemesis of Sherlock Holmes and of course his role as Rasputin was equally as brilliant. He creates a atmosphere to all his creations that is unique.
One of the greatest.
