i mean really, its sad that the kid died, but he must have been a dumbass for doing it!

Saber_Apricot
Yes, the mom blames it on the game, rather than herself for not seeing that their was something wrong with her kid.

It's like that incident with a bunch of kids who beat up a young girl and left her to die (which she did... thanks to a train I think) on some railroad tracks. And who did they blame? The kids for doing it? No. How about the parents for not supervising them (they were all under 13)? Nope, they blamed Power Rangers. As much as I have always disliked that program, you can't pin the blame on TV shows, books, or any other media item.

Mr Wiggles
the power rangers? lmao how can they get THAT off the power rangers?

Kenshinswife
This isnt the first time something like this happened...There was an incident bout two years ago with a little boy and pokemon..his mom told him not to plsy with cards because she felt they were evil but the boy insisted that they weren't anyways he kept on playing with them and i guess it became an obbsesion one day his mom had sent him to the store and he brought his cards with them and he was looking at them on the way and a train was going by on the track and i guess he ran across and dropped one of his favorite cards or whatever and he thought he could make it across and when he went to grab the card his foot got caught and the train hit him....all of that over some stupid cards....anyways the mom tried to sew the company saying that it was their fault...and the same thing had happend with the Yugioh cards but the mom said that it made her kids demon possed...do you really think that these cards are truly doing this?
It really is a sad situation to find yourself in....to be so caught up in a game that you would kill yourself over it...scary...

Atomic Rico
Kids are really stupid(yes, I was a stupid kid once too)
This is almost as hilarious as when that kid killed the other one over a pokemon card

Joker1237
ok you ever heard of the Dead MAn's hand, and how it got its name????

Mr Wiggles
all i know is that wild bill hickok shot to death during a poker game in south carolina, and that the hand he held was two pair, black aces and black eights. i dont know why he was shot or what the fifth card was

raginrhino_316
its sorta like the computer game "Everquest" some kid`s account got deleted and he killed his family then himself

MildPossession
A boy killed himself years ago because of The Lion King animation, he wanted to come back as Simba, so we might as well ban everything...

Joker1237
your right, and since than it was the dead man's hand.

But I relly dont see the point of killing each other over games, Would I risk my life for a card??? Nope.

ITs a game, and if you lose the card, buy other one.

Ironman
lol thats hilarious i mean cum on all over a yugimin card laughing out loud laughing rolling on floor laughing Happy Dance dance tomcathystericalfish

OH BOY here we go again with the stupidities of life and how pointless it is to be materialistic... why would we make ourselves so obsessed over a concept that it eventually drives us to do something like kill one another or commit suicide it's pointless. BUt that's what our world is coming to... simple scapegoats and accusations. Pathetic.
rock

Robo-Chocobo
As a player of the Yu-gi-oh TCG I feel obligated to comment upon this.

it is impossible to blame this soley on a card game. there had to be other factors involved, so blame cannot be soley placed on the card game.

(I don't remember ever getting dice in a yugioh started deck.)

it is a fun hobby, nothing more. It in fact is no different than being into everquest or another MMORPG, or other hobbies. It is regretable that such an event occured, blame cannot be focused on just the card game.

THere are so many factors and things that could have contributed to this. You could ask why the mother didn't notice he was so obsessed with them, and take them away, you could ask a million things. the truth is we don't know. but blaming a kids suicide on a card game is not the end all solution

Sora Asakura
Hey choco i like your thougts on the subject but the true question is what motive does the person have to blame everything on a game? is it b/c we're lazy and didn't want to find a better reason or is it because we're afriad of what society will think of us?

Robo-Chocobo
wow, that's pretty deep.

( I wish I had made my initial post more deep, solemn and thought provoking....damn)

Sora Asakura
Hey choco don't sweat it that's just what happens when i start to think too hard on something....( now i just feel bad for making you feel bad.)

RielKid
that kid went coo coo for coa coa puffs.

Maylien
killing yourself over cards of programmes is pathetic the shows can't be blamed cos its the kids that are stupid enough to letv it affect them

RielKid
That's right. Coo Coo... Coo Coo.

Yu-Gi-Owned!
big grin

RielKid
That's a good one. laughing

Sora Asakura
Oh boy here we go again... hey trance duo where'd ya get your signature pic?

Sora Asakura
hey maylien, that's true too but what would actually lead a kid to become stupid enough to do that? till we know exactly what's going through our heads when our emotions and obsessions have taken over we really are not the ones to be pointing fingers at any one for the time being... I mean it's true if a little kid is stupid enough to let it affect him or her but the question is whay would they let it affect them?

Yuna33
You can't be serious!
Because of a card game?!
That's crazy! What kind of lunatic
would hang themselves because of a stupid card game?!

TrAnCeDuO
Rielkid: why thank you!

This is sad to think the kid would kill himself over the game or that the mother would come up with the conclusion. The younger brother said it himself that the boy said he would kill himself if he rolled a 6 on a die. No the thing to ponder is why would he make such a bid decision. I will kill myself if the following incident occurs. I actually could come up with the conclusion that the boy must have been afraid that his mother was going to beat him for the mess and decided this would be the way out. You could also say his little brother talked him into the bet and by peer pressure, forced him into following it out with the altemadum that if he didnt, he would tell everyone about it. That would be enough to finish it. If you dont finish what you started, everyone else will. This can be turned around to the same thing as the Columbine incident. Because of a little intimidation, two boys were forced to the decision that they could kill their problem. When they were faced with the realization that they might be caught in the aftermath and they had not killed everyone, then they settled with killing themselves. The boy said it himself. "Dont blame this on anything other than this is the way I want to go out." They boy wanted to go out on his chosing, and thats how he decided to go.

in our society there is no way to die with honor, i mean there is nothing in this world to hold on to, everywhere there is nothing but pain, lying carnal emotions that bring nothing but pain, and if all anyone can do to help themselves is to cling to anything that is above the world, in yu-gi-oh, its becoming your best and fighting for something, and in real life there is nothing but religion, and even that is failing, its hard to believe in because all it is... is a belief in something that may not be real, *sigh*
an i know how it is, over the last six months i have spent the better half of that in vista deal mar, a rehab for suicidal teens, and well it is very easy to lose hope, because there is none in this world, with all the pain and uncertainty, i mean how is one suppose to feel. Most people just lie to themselves and says they'll make it, crushing others left and right, putting others down when all it does is hurt everyone in your path, some of you may recall the incident with harry potter, when that kid jumped off his four thinking that he would fly, i mean we all wish for the existence to change at one point or another. and when your a loner, you have only your self to talk to, and most of these kids in these type of positions don't know enough in life to help themselves, what are we living for? to satisfy our lusts, until there is nothing left but the shell of a person with no emotion, seeking to get back to the first time he felt some pleasure, what ever that may be...
i mean there is no good in this world... love is a joke, and name one emotion that isn't based on self gratification...

o well, thats my say just that it is believable to die for almost anything these days...

Stormchild
The world would be a better place without puns

WindDancer
This is pretty sad. There is more to life than a pack of cards. What a shame...

Stabmaster Kiru

Sora Asakura
Hey ninelives ithink you freaked the hell out of people around here, good job i now promote you to master fiend

Maylien
Its really sad for the kid that he nothing better to live for so he bet on his own life no matter how many times i have wanted to kill myself i never would cos i dont know what i would miss if i did

Sora Asakura
Aww a sentimental quote from a very wise sounding person how cute...
you're right why give up our lives if this game is all that we fell we're meant for what about friends, family, or just getting high on life itself?

Maylien
its such a waste does any one know how old the kid was

atv2
I'd say that the kid's insane but hey what else is new? It's been done in real life and kids today are losing their life over these card games.
