old and young vs young and old. i think obi wan and vader take this but im not sure.

ani and obi win. ANH obi is stronger then ROTS obi and ROTS anikan beats vader

i thnk Rots obi wan was better, he was fitter and more battle prone

ANH is wiser and smarter in the force and has all of ROTS exp (duh)

Not necesarily..

Its obvious that Obi Wan knows the Sand People in ANH, and has fought them. He also found out a way to scare them. Meaning either that he just didn't want to fight or could not win from them. Judging ANH Obi we can clearly say that he did not want to fight at all unless necessary. The less he fought the better. But he still would have trained maybe not in a real war but he still would have trained. He would have become more powerful with the force more atuned. Dooku is also old but he still kicks ass, and Dooku hasn't really had any battles before AOTC either. Still he kicks ass. Obi Wan would have probably perfectd his style by ANH even without the fighting.

And yeah Rots OBi is more fit, but he wouldn't stand against the force powers and the superior lightsaber skills of ANH Obi.

ANH obi might have masterd form 4 since he perfected form 3 but that is my guess

He hadn't mastered Soresu in ROTS yet, he was great but not yet a master in it. You don't master a form that fast. He would have gone from average to mastering it in only three years... He isn't that good.

well actually he was using it for 13 years since TPM

Yeah I know but in AOTC he was far from good with it, average or so from what I can tell. So that would mean he would go from Average to Mastering it in just 3 years. I very much doubt he can do something like that.

Oh no, he mastered it. It's in every official source on him, and on the style of Soresu. Off the top of my head, there's the Episode III Guide.

Yeah I know, the book also says that he was lucky... And I know he was good but well I remember it saying something about his skill somewhere but then saying it wasn't good enough yet. However that could have been taking a bit out of context or a translation error, has been some time since I read the book and I trust you on this. So okay he probably did master it.

Ani beats Vader, younger Kenobi beats older Kenobi (IMHO) but then Ani beats young Kenobi. So Ani but Ben dies.

Does someone else want to comment his response. Almost everything in that paragraph is not logical.

So, he could obviously kill those stormtroopers he didn't. Anakin got a better control too, maybe he wasn't as powerful as before but he had more skill and a better control over the force. Obi Wan also didn't want to kill Vader... He sacrifised himself.

Assumption- Clone Troopers are -stronger- than Stormtroopers.

Assumption- Strength has any bearing on the argument in regards to troopers.

Assumption- ROTS Obi-Wan is stronger.

Assumption- Strength is the ultimate decider of this battle, not wisdom or anything else.

Assumption- ANH Obi-Wan -couldn't- kill the stormtroopers that got in his way.

Assumption- He didn't kill them, thus he must not be able to. It has NO bearing on his intelligence and philosophy.

No, it's making inferences from observations and using logic. His reasoning is poor. He has assumptions that supposively affect the battle, but they don't. Leia even says so herself. If anything, it's a more sound assumption in thinking that the stormtroopers didn't kill anyone from the Falcon because they were ordered to.

See the difference? Yes, we have to make some assumptions here, and really, in everything in life. The difference is how the argument is prepared and if it stands up to scrutiny. If the argument itself is logically unsound, it's a poor assumption by construction.

Stormtroopers and cloens could be the exact same thing unlikely but it could be for a big part. Yeah clones would most likely be superior but not by so much that stormtroopers are just going to suck. They did take destroy Hoth afterall...

Obi Wan could have easily killed two stormtroopers even a youngling did it, no way in hell that it would be hard but Obi Wan didn't he had his reasons for not doing it. And Obi Wan did hold back against Vader so that fight means nothing either. All in all we have nothing to measure Obi Wan his power with in ANH. We can only guess on it, and my guess wouldn't be that he became weaker.

i think that old age did not suit obi won too much and just made him weaker and slower. He was not impressive at all. he only became wiser and more boring.

Giving me a link to a word that I apparantly understand how to use and know the definition to was very pointless. Now I'm going to explain why Continue was used correctly. I said "if he continues to prove you wrong". The definition of continue is "To go on with a particular action or in a particular condition; persist" according to the link you posted. Now proving you wrong would be the particular action that he would be going on with. Meaning that he would be proving you wrong for a prolonged amount of time. Now I would like to know why you thought that I used continue wrong, please explain.

Right now it's impossible to truely say who's stronger between ANH and ROTS Obi-Wan. All we can do is speculate.

But if you say "Well, we can't know the truth, therefore I am not wrong" you must be foolish. Scientific theories revolve around speculation, because there is no way in hell to verifiy that something will happen every time as always regardless... just not possible. But by using a sound process to create said theories, you can make MORE valid arguments and theories. So see, anyone can speculate, but that doesn't make all speculations equal. A pity you can't understand that.

When did you prove me wrong in this thread? I have read and re-read replies here and have yet to see anyone here prove what I said was wrong. And when before have you proven me wrong? Next, my arguements were to sound for anyone to yet prove them wrong. Okay, you have never pwn'd me and I knwo your just mad because I;m the first one who has ever bullied the bully. Darthsith19 obviously has no idea how to debate or even how to be civil. I haven't liked him since he first arrived, because he goes to every thread and posts his opinion (Which is usually totally whack) and then argues it without ever proving it over and over again.

If Janus was in the wrong, i would not side with him. He has witnessed this before. Their is no selection with the things i stated earlier towards you. Bias is irrelevant, unfortunately. Regardless of other opinions- Janus/Nemesis, you went too far in that post of yours. You have gone over the barrier between attacking the argument and simply flaming the person.

I do not expect to see that happen again.

I am, in fact, very disappointed in many of you here. You have laid into Darth Sith calling his arguments illogicial and promoting your own in a VERY clique like manner which I will not tolerate. It is worth noting that the following two things are GL sourced facts:

1. Obi-Wan in ANH was weaker than he was in ROTS

2. Stormtroopers are a decline in quality from Clonetroopers.

And hence there was far more to his arguments than you make out. I most certainly get the impression that people's views on this arguments was far more to do with who the people saying them were, than what they were saying- for shame.

If this sort of attitude carries on then I will break this clique. I cannot stand that sort of group mentality at the best of times, but when they slide into this sort of behaviour then they have become a serious board issue. You have been warned.
