ROTS Obi-Wan vs. Cin Drallig

Lord Simus
I think Cin takes this through sheer power and lightsaber skills.
Darth Avis
Obi was better then Cin i think and obi was the third best jedi only to Yoda and Mace everyone said so. I cant think of an argument but im sure someone will. Until then i wont vote
Lord Simus
Why do always agree with the general census of a board?
Darth Avis
Because smart people like you faunus janus fishy etc give good arguments for people and really persuade me.
Lord Simus
You rely too much on others opinions. And Janus is slightly biased towards Obi-Wan
Darth Avis
wtf Janus isnt biased and its not just there opinion they give facts and etc.
Darth_Glentract
Obi-wan has this. Anakin solidly defeated Cin, and Obi-wan is generally considered to be better than Anakin. Sure, it is simple logic, but it works.
@ Avis: So I'm not smart? lol
Darth Avis
i said etc i cant include like 20 other people
Lord Simus
Maybe thats just me then but from what I have seen he obviously isn't a fanboy but his love for Obi seems to get the better of him.
Darth Avis
nai is biased when it comes to yoda. he thought if yoda got close to Ragnos yoda can win
Lord Simus
Glentract how can you say that when we don't even know the conditions of that fight.
Darth Avis
novel that was a good read even if it was not canon
Lord Simus

Thats because he can.
Lord Simus

You do know that novel is not considered canon right?
Darth Avis
wtf you kidding me? RAGNOS. the greatest darklord ever. He probably is good with his sword since he is the strongest bieng in the galexy with the force and yea i said its not canon but i still liked it.
Lord Simus
So Sidious rivals Yoda in force powers and he sucks with a lightsaber.
Darth Avis
And Ragnos can pwn sidious while reading a book. plus Ragnos can use a huge force push if it gets out of hand
Lord Simus
And guess what that doesn't prove hes good with a sword.
Lord Simus
Anyways lets get back on topic.
Darth Avis
he beat simus who is very powerful. and he used a sword. and Nai said get in close.

What is this?
Name me any one or two instances where I have allowed my "love for Obi-Wan" to get the better of me on this forum.
Darth Faunus
Okay. Simus, Janus has admitted a bias towards Dooku and Obi-Wan, if anyone. But that has never impeded him in putting up nearly perfect arguments every time he posts.
And Avis, Nai has put through conclusions that have revolutionized the thoughts of many characters, Naga Sadow and Ulic Qel-Droma included. Even the Yoda argument had some merit, as absurd as it sounds.
And this fight, although I completely disagree with the logic presented, goes to Kenobi, although it'd be a duel to see.
Lord Simus
In many threads with him against Maul but you probably don't realize it, I didn't mean to offend you.
Darth Avis
yea Nai is awsome just biased with yoda who does pwn but not to the extent that he can beat Ragnos
Darth Faunus

Avis, no offense, but you're a far cry from attempting to disprove Nai Fohl. Now, I have to get up a 5:30, and I ant my seven hours of sleep. So Janus, good luck with this bunch. I'll drop in at three tomorrow. I'll be out for the evening; Braves vs. Mets tomorrow.
Darth Avis
i know i cant come close to Nai but i also know that no matter what happens Ragnos cann beat yoda
Lord Simus
And now your contradicting yourself.
Lord Simus
You just said Ragnos can't beat Yoda!
Darth_Glentract
It's called a typo. It gets the best of us.
Darth Avis
ohh yea will edit

Seeing that both the movie and the book say Anakin easily killed Cin, Obi-wan could take him. The power he showed in the game is outweighed here.
Lord Simus
First off the book isn't canon and that hologram was really small and like 5 seconds long.
Deus Ex
More like two to three seconds. And the book is considered canon, but the problems with it contradicting the movie make it as unreliable a source as the Episode III game. In any case, we have not seen anything to indicate that Skywalker can kill Cin Drallig on his own. And considering that in LOE, Cin Drallig is listed as one of the most skilled jedi duellists, strong enough to destroy Grievious, we can assume that he would put up a titanic fight.
Darth_Glentract
What official source said the book is uncanon? I know I quote from it a lot, but it is where we get a lot of our main idea's from around here. Guess where the idea that Dooku threw the fight came from? The book. There are others, but I am tryping in between doing a HUGE school project, so I can't get those right now. Reguardless of how long the clip is, it stands. It's canon at the highest level.
Deus Ex
Hm. I didn't recognize you, Genises. Did you want another sig? I didn't know you had changed screen names.

No one misuderstand me, I think Cin is strong. Top ten probably, but against THE Soresu master of that time, and third strongest in the Order? Cin is going down hard after a good fight.
Lord Simus
Wow I thought people realized it was me. Not right now though I'm fine with this one for now.

No, it's not canon at its highest level.
The top is movies and radio plays. Novelisations are not included.
It's considered EU, and that means it's quasi-canon; if it doesn't contradict the movie, it stands. But the ROTS book -does- contradict the movie. Many times. To be fair, it does mirror the script for the movie quite a bit, but I would consider the script over the book ANY time, especially since the novelisation is merely an author's interpretation of the script and/or movie.
So for the purpose of these threads, I don't consider the ROTS book a viable source. It's still quasi-canon, and is still EU, but it's so buggy and misquoted and oftentimes outright bias for Anakin and Sidious I don't like to even consider using it.
Captain REX
Like canon-uncanon matters in here. It's a subsection of the EU forum.
*steps out*
Darth_Glentract
I don't see what is wrong with it in places where it doesn't contradict the movie. It is actually agreeing with it in that battle with Cin, but yes, in any places it contradicts the movie, I blow it off.
Deus Ex
Actually, from the way I've seen it in print, it does contradict the scene, since it shows the scene totally different from what was in movie (And I watched the scene more than a few times to make sure)
CobbleR
Your new name confuses me I keep reading it douze.
Luke Is Better
janus whats up with the deus ex name? who the hell is that

I agree with Simus
Deus Ex
It's pronounced Day-us Ex
ObiWan1982
I say Kenobi has this for sure... more battle experience... greater force power... and a lightsaber style that would allow him to wear down a skillful opponent like Cin Drallig... Kenobi isn't considered one of the top Jedi for nothing.
Just my two cents.

I'm glad you told us because that would've driven me crazy

This is lame. Vader beat Cin with one hand while fending off two other Padawans at the same time. Obi-Wan beat Vader. How simple can it get?

Obviously you didn't see the three second hologram. Anakin exchanges two swipes with Cin. There is NO kill. And the temple was filled to the brim with stormtroopers. And FYI, Anakin was choking a padawan with his bare hand, not "fending off two other padawans".
So yeah, it's not that simple.

So you think Cin would win? And he was fending off Cin and 2 Padawans at once. I never said he was fending them off with his saber.
Deus Ex
I don't know actually. He should be good (The other lightsaber trainer... what's his name from Shadow Hunter... he was pretty damn good), so he would put up a fight. But ROTS Obi-Wan is pretty damn skilled and has the most hands-on experience to date.
Lord Simus
I believe it was Anoon Bondara.

Yup, that's right. But was she a lightsaber trainer?
Lord Simus
"HE" was the master of Darsha Assant. So to answer your question no.
Deus Ex
He was a trainer of sorts, I remember that much, and was reputed to be very good in the order. A prodigy of sorts.
Lord Simus
And he gave Maul a pretty good challenge IMO.
Deus Ex
I still need to finish that book, but i put it down halfway through.
Lord Simus
Tell me when you finish the book.
Darth Faunus
It never really captured my interests. . . I'd attribute it to lack of writing ability. But hell, after reading Star Wars literature by James Luceno, the other authors sound like amateurs.
Deus Ex
I originally got it so I could better analyze all this "omfg Maul pwns Shadow hunter seyz so" crap I was getting. So far, it's not half bad. Same guy worked on it who was part of the two man team who made the Medstar Duology.
Darth Faunus
Nice sig. . . that what you've been working on?
