Explain Kotor please...

Okay people, I just realised something... And I was wondering if anybodyd had a good explanation instead of just sucky plot.

- In Kotor II it says that HK was created after Malachor V.
- In Kotor I HK talks about attacking Mandalore, this happened before Malachor V. He was send there by a Mandelorian that captured him.
- In Kotor I HK says that you Revan, never let him into the secrets of the Star Forge
-HK was captured after flying through Mandelorian space thats when the shit with him started.
-HK also talks about Malak being your apprentice and he remembers that. How?

So could somebody please explain to me how HK was build after Malachor but still went out to fight Mandalore who was killed by Revan during Malachor. How HK came back from an assassination mission in Mandelorian space when the Mandelorians didn't have any space anymore. And how the hell could HK have known about the Star Forge if he still got the chance to kill Mandalore and assassinate somebody in Mandelorian space?

Now of course Revan could have build HK before the battle of Malachor, but that makes Kotor II false. It also wouldn't explain how he knew of the Star Forge and why he was a Jedi Killer as Revan probably wasn't turning Jedi yet and if he was then he probably wouldn't have killed the Jedi he could still turn. So thats just strange.

It could have been that there was a new Mandalore after the battle of Malachor, but again that would make Kotor II false. As Canderous claims to be the first to stand up, also it would make what HK says really strange because he does refer to the Mandalore he tried to kill as The Mandalore.

Or perhaps Mandalore wasn't killed until after Malachor, but that would the story's of everybody in the war false...

So does anybody have an explanation or should this just go into the ever growing pile of mistakes?

Darth Koroni
Mabye some stupid Mandalorian decided to call himself Mandalore and HK's Mandalorian owner didn't like this.

Se7in
The development team of Kotor 2 was different, and a lot worse. I think it was Obsidian, and they had way less time, less budget, and a worse staff. Plotholes were a product of sloppy development.

Fishy
Half of the things happened in Kotor I alone.

And Koroni thats a possibility but it doesn't explain everything and more importantly how could Canderous claim to be the new Mandalore. Also why would HK be Mandelorian space?

Lord-Nihilus
Mandalore is the leader of the ordo clan, so by madalorien laws, he takes the rightful thrown, hk was on a mission we will never find out,

Lets hope that bioware or whoever it is can pick up the pieces

Fishy
So basically nobody knows, okay mayor mistake in HK then...

And they still came up with a pretty good game. They tried to release the cut content as a patch, but the officials at Lucasarts didn't want them to.

Darth Traya
Oh, and why do people blame Obsidian for Kotor II's plotholes, blame Lucasarts for making them finish the game three months early.

Fishy
Kotor II isn't that bad, it would have been great if finished... And people that blaim Obsidian are wrong with who they blame... But that still doesn't explain the Kotor I and II HK mistake... Bah stupid Obisidian and Bioware.

Darth Traya
That is a plothole, unless there were two Mandalore's...

Fishy
Still that wouldn't explain Mandelorian space... I think the most likely situation is that Malachor was the last big battle or something but that the Mandelorians survived for a lot longer. And Mandalore did as well, hiding and running from Revan. And that HK was build in just days and was destroyed not much perhaps a year at most later in what remained of Mandelorian space...

But even so that doesn't make a lot of sense, why would the other Mandelorians surrender. Why didn't Canderous talk about it? Why didn't anybody else talk about it?

Nactous
I know KotOR 2 is hard to comprehend.

Fishy
The mistake is in Kotor I as much as it is in II... Hell i think Bioware is much worse then Obsidian here. Bioware invented him and made a mistake in the history they created for him.. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

Darth Koroni
Myeeep.. In K1 I cannot feel the guilt I do in K2, I just get rid of the whiners, and continue with the dark side action anyway.

Damn Lucastarts...why didn't they let them?

Cause they're greedy bastards who only care about the money. Hense the "awesome graphics" that rape my computer do to the pixelated hell that is 1000-bit games..

I can't even PLAY KoToR because it makes my computer freeze and or freakout and has to end it.. All because LucasArts thinks us monkies who won't settle for a game with subpar graphics but excellent plot and mechanics..

Ganner Rhysode
My computer's fairly old, and it can run KotOR on pretty high settings. Yours must be ancient.

Actually it's a brand new Emachines.

Ushgarak
Odd thing to say, because KOTOR II's graphics were outdated at time of release.

It was desgined for X-Box, which will inevitably need a higher end PC.

Deus Ex
It's confliction with certain graphics cards, I believe. I also have a newer emachine, with an AMD 2.0 gb processor and a 128 ATI Radeon 9600 and Dantooine is impossible to get past without crashing horribly in the open plains.

I think it was poor programming on that part, and I'd like to point out that the graphics even for Xbox are jumpy and glitchy.

Ushgarak
Yup, Dantooine is buggered.

Fishy
Yeah the graphics are not that good whether for PC and X-box and normally things are limited because its released on X-box. A good PC can handle far more then an X-box can.

But even with my 5900 Ultra (pretty high end card when Kotor II came out) it won't run right, the game crashes and stutters when it shouldn't. Its bad programming.

Ushgarak
It has never been a well-programmed engine.

Deus Ex
Very bad. I've had fewer problems with Bioware's Neverwinter Nights, oddly enough when you consider that NWN predates both KOTORs.

Fishy
New functions in the engine, its based on the same one not the exact same thing. Support for "newer" functions sucks ass.
