Sol Badguy (GGX) versus Cloud (FFVII AdvChi)

Who the hell is Sol Badguy?

Sol Badguy is one of the protagonists in the Guilty Gear series. Wiki goes more in-depth and has a good description of his powers. But in general he's sort of like a fire master.

Sol fights using a blunt, rectangular sword known as Fuuenken (Fireseal) through which he releases a range of fire-based attacks.

Canon states that Sol was the winner of the first Guilty Gear Tournament, and it is here that Justice discovers that Sol is, in fact, Frederick. Justice, in her dying words, comments that she wishes that "the three of us" could talk one last time, and Sol swears to kill That Man.

Yeah but I edited my post to delete the stuff he posted. I like the fact he actually took the time to teach us who Sol badguy was. I appreciate that.

Anyway...this fight'd go towards Sol because no doubt this'd come down to share endurance and as tough is Cloud is, Sol has a slight edge over him with his fire wielding. In saying that Cloud has materia which'd take a split second longer than Sols' fire, and in this fight you can't afford a second. Go Sol go.

Cloud Strife has lots of endurance. In Advent Children he fights Bahamut, Loz & Yazoo, Kadaj & Sephiroth one after the other. He can last quite a while, and his speed is off the charts. I don't see the flames being that big of a problem, but they will aid Sol Badguy against Cloud.

Is there a specific reason for him to use a blunt sword?

It's blunt? I don't think it's blunt. Uhh dunno....

I rated this fight like this-

Strength (Physical): Sol Badguy.
Speed (Agility and what not): Cloud Stryfe.
Swordsmanship (How they handle their weapons): Cloud Stryfe.
Power (Materia, Energy Blasts & Magic sh*t): Draw.
Experience (Pretty much says it all): Sol Badguy.

Conclusion: Due to 100s of years of fighting, Sol has the edge on Cloud. Even with his battles with Sephiroth and SHINRA and what not, Cloud would eventually fall. Cloud would put up a big fight and knock a few of Sols teeth out, but after that, he's going to get a huge flaming fist to the face.

I don't know dude...you're better off leaving materia out of this because with so much materia and all the different combinations Cloud becomes a ***** to discuss...lets leave materia out of this for the sake of Sol Badguy.

Yea true, started thinking about Knights of the Round and what not.

The magic system in a number of FF games is sophisticated and things such as spell time, accuracy and damage are unspecified and are unlike real-time magic spells such as the ones in KH. Hell even in the KH2 secret ending we see Thundaga, Reflega and Blizzaga in real-time action.

I don't see why Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo didn't use Materia PROPERLY

Summons are somewhat cheap in my opinion.

Edit: What I meant by FF magic spells not having specific accuracy damage and time, is that we don't know for instance, if Wakka just has to put out his hand and make ice appear and surround the enemy regardless of how fast and where the enemy is within two seconds while casting Blizzaga, and Firaga in FFX looks more like an explosion that suddenly appeared where the enemy is than flames.

What I meant by FF magic spells not having specific accuracy damage and time, is that we don't know for instance, if Wakka just has to put out his hand and make ice appear and surround the enemy regardless of how fast and where the enemy is within two seconds while casting Blizzaga canonically speaking, and Firaga in FFX looks more like an explosion that suddenly appeared where the enemy is than flames, which is why spell damage is questionable.

I'm not saying this applies to all or many FF games but in FF7 and X at least, magic spells were not demonstrated in cutscenes as far as I know, but that means nothing other than what I've said. FF magic still pwns though.

Sol's far cooler the Cloud but the GG characters don't have many feats, nor can you infer how strong they are.
