You don't need to know any more than basic to know who Superman is, because comics are soooooooooooooo inconsitant, writers contridict each other.

Well the first half of your post is a lie. The second half..That's why comics that aren't canon are called Elseworlds and feature stories that could never happen in mainstream. Mainstream is canon. Saying every Superman comic is canon is like saying the One Piece/DragonBall crossover is canon. Or the movies are canon. Or that any anime that changes everything about a manga is canon. There is a reason for the word.

Your ability to draw well has NOTHING to do with your intellegence, just steady hands. It's claims like these that mean people are stupid.

Mainstream is/means written by the same guy, thats canon in it's only form.

While some Superman writers give Superman an OMG fake speed feat, they don't give him a retarded strength feat, and Goku's power is constant in DBZ.
