This is Sidious from ROTS and Death Star Marek right before his confrontation with the older Emperor. Before the fight starts bear in mind that this is the same Marek that defeated Vader who general consensus seems to be that he's around as powerful as ROTS Sids, without being completely wreaked in the process, but also that this Sidious was able to blitz some top tier Council members.

Standard three rounds.

1.) Sidious, firmly.

2.) I'm tempted to say Marek.

3.) Probably Sidious. Whatever the disparity in power between the two, Sidious is the superior swordsman and is a vastly more cunning warrior.

I'd hate to be anywhere within a mile or ten of this particular fight. People, small animals, large animals, and buildings will be destroyed and/or used as projectiles.

Sidious, but not easy. It would come down to a Force battle and the result would look like a nuclear bomb went off.

Isn't this resolved in one of the encyclopedias, or wookiepedia? In the book and game, starkiller looses so why make a thread that is resolved already?

I believe that Sidious would win all three. He'd have considerable difficulty though. When Marek generated his last force explosion, Sidious got up without a scratch on him. That still bothers me.

The comic shows his robes smoldering.

It looks awesome.

Oh, I know. I meant his body. He gets up and continues being his old creppy, cryptic self.

The comic's version is much better than either the novelization's or the actual cinematic.

Why is there a "What If?" here. It's been done in TFU.

Force wise, virtually equal, but towards the end Marek couldn't hold it.

Saber wise, might be a different story. Sidious is the obvious superior in saber combat.

Marek would put up a good fight, but he'll loose...no question

And that Sidious had more then a decade's worth of experience,knowledge,etc. than his ROTS counterpart which could play a big role in the fight, particularly the force duel.

I agree with Faunus's op for the outcome.

I have to go with Sidious all three. Sidious has the upper hand in the Force and rapes him with a saber, so of course he overall wins.

But Iv noticed Sidious doesnt use Sabers unless he has to.. (for example getting approached by 4 council members all with ignited sabers).. and I think when youv reached THAT LEVEL of Force Power, then Sabers WONT be the deciding factor. so I think it would come to a Force fight where Sidious would Just Have the Edge.

Thats what i was trying to say about TFU, garen held it right until the end where he lost all endurance and gave up...perhaps that was his ploy, so he could become at one with the force, maybe he was nobble and just help it until the senators had chance to get away...

either way, he lost. afterwards, garen was a steaming pile of corpse and sidious was fine...

yeah marek, force wise is equal and saber wise sid would win,as he knows all forms. BUt sidous also as more willpower then marek so in the end marek loses...butit was resolved in FU.

It isn't resolved because this is ROTS Sidious not TFU Sidious, I'm not saying Marek would win but you can't say that this thread is automatically resolved because a future (around 16 years I think) of Sidious survived the battle with SK.

I guess that's my bad for not really reading the fact that it was RotS Sidious...:s sorry. Ok then, taking into account the fact that he is weaker then TFU...

Sidious was able to take out 3 council member jedi within seconds of the 'duel' starting, Windu had some trouble to begin with adjusting to Sidious' style of fighting, but managed to hold him at bay and eventually overcome him. At this level, he was still able to cloud jedi judgement over forthcoming events (i.e. outcome of The Clone Wars, Anakins fate, etc), withstand force lightning directly to the body (suggesting he had some degree of control over how much damage he sustained in battles), and after being mortally scarred was still able to fight Yoda (who in my opinion is on par with sidious).

Garen was trained purely in the sith arts up until his redemption, where he learnt some jedi skills. He bested Vader force wise. Simply because, in both the graphic novelization and game Garen throws things at Vader, as does Vader at Garen (not much saber duelling ensues).

TFU Sidious was simply more matured because of the knowledge he'd learned over the time between TFU and RotS. RotS Sidious was more arrogent, meaning that when he did battle, say Windu, he was not very mindful of the fact that Windu was very fluid when it came to duelling.

This all in mind, Sidious could still best Garen with his saber skill...and i believe force wise he'd best Garen too.

I'd say, first 2 rounds to Sidious hands down (force and saber) and the third would all be down to how well Garen can read peoples fighting styles...

Beg your pardon, but in both the graphic novelisation and the novel Galen beat Vader in sabre duelling.

In the graphic novelisation he slashes Vader's chest while Vader doesn't land a blow on him. Vader responds with a Force Push and Galen wins by dropping two pillars on him.

In the novel he soundly beats Vader in a sabre duel and only uses Force-kinesis to finish him off.

lol, i completely overlooked that. I completely forgot that vader stroles in just in time to see palpy and garen engaged in hand holding...lol

that could be very possible, he was put off and just lost it lol
