F = force guy (relatively bad a sabers but good at force)

S = saber guy (opposite)

Mace = S

Sidious = F
Maul = S and he can't do lightning

Combining the facts that every neophyte dark sider could generate Force lightning and that Maul didn't have mechnical hands, you're wrong. Maul was trained to be deadly in every respect, Force included. That he never demonstrates his powers doesn't mean they don't exist. Otherwise it's comparable to saying Obi-Wan never took a piss in the movie because he's never shown to use the restroom.

ME? These are stereotypes that people have been using, I don't agree with all of them.

What about anything in between saber and force?

Uh, how is mace "relatively bad at the Force?" And how is Dooku "relatively bad at sabers?" I don't recall any rational and halfway knowledgeable person here suggesting this.

Everyone's (or some people, at least) is like "oh, Mace pwns so and so in sabers but loses in the force". They back that up saying "oh he never showed anything impressive in the movies using the force" (ignoring how he destroyed a droid army using the force to argument himself). People see Dooku doing force lightning and are like "oh that looks cool! So he must be better at the force than Mace because Mace didn't do something a cool as that!" Same thing w/Vader and his force choke.

And by "relatively" bad, I mean not as good in sabers/force as he/she is in the other category.

Yes, but people consider him to be better in the force, probably because they saw him do force lightning and thought that it looked cool.

This is the wrong kind of thinking here. Establishing hierarchies shouldn't be the goal of SWVF; that's just working for a status quo. The idea should be to have people flesh out their opinions based on the source material and their own rational arguments. In other words, Dooku's only as good as Debater A can portray him versus Debater B's arguments.

Also, the traits you're attempting to establish here are grossly oversimplified. Not all saber fighting styles are equal; Obi-Wan could take Anakin, but never Dooku, for example. But yet Anakin beat Dooku, etc. Also, Force powers is verifiable only from a few instances in-movie and perhaps a few more examples in EU. You can't have every single Force user do some kind of universal test of certain Force powers, nor can you read their power levels or anything.

So in the end, this thread fails to try and do something the SWVF has notoriously done in the past - establish a status quo, oversimplify the characters we're attempting to portray here, and basically negate any kind of deep, out of the box thinking by replacing it with generalizations.

Whoa...calm down. And these are stereotypes, I'm not saying that they're right. I'm just looking at some common stereotypes; for example, everyone seems to think that Mace "sucks" (relatively) at the force.

Seeing "calm down" coming from you always seems so... weird. And out of place this time. And thing is though, Mace doesn't suck. He's #2 of the PT "Golden Age" Jedi for a reason.
