Greil--Former rider of Daein, Ike's father and mentor.

Ike--Leader of the 'Greil Mercenaries' after the death of his father.

Greil has the use of his sword arm; Ike uses Ragnell, and Greil uses Alodite.

Greil is his only known class (hero) and Ike is a (lord); game setting PoR (Path of Radiance)

Both are SS ranked in swords, and have equal stats.

Greil. He still held his own against the Black Knight, who Ike barely beat both times, with his bad arm and an axe, both of which he is worse with.

Ike can't top his dad.

I was prepared to say Ike but this is POR Ike where he was still a pussy. POR Ike didn't even beat Zelgius, he let him win. I'd wager that Gawain beats his son at this stage. Although I will say that Gawain did not hold his own against Zelgius, Zelgius toyed with him that entire time.

Just watch them train in the beginning and you know who wins.

Not that simple. In Path Of Radiance Ike wouldn't win. But in Radiant Dawn Ike killed The Black Knight while Greil lost to him. So it depends what game you are talking about.
