Who do you think would win?
I think this would be a fairly even match up. They're both large and dominantly strong fighters physically. With their speeds, Plagues has moved as fast as a thunderbolt while Bane has been depicted to appear to be wielding a dozen sabers at once. With TK Plagues has been able to disintegrate a group of Assassins with Force Waves--Bane has done the same against Technobeasts. Both have been regarded as absolute masters of lightsaber combat, and have shown clear superiority to even extremely skilled duelists in the mythos. Both have devastating Force Lightning as well.
Their most major differences would be Midichlorian Manipulation(Plagues) and Orbalisks(Bane), both having unique advantages. So who'd win?

I'll have to think about it, myself. This seems to be a rather even matchup to me.

Plagueis. Even Palpatine is in awe of his power, and points out that at times he seems "almost omnipotent". After his death, in which Sidious feels a force more powerful than himself that he speculates may have been Plagueis, Palpatine wonders if the Force had ever been strong in anyone. There's also the back cover claiming that he "was the most powerful sith lord who ever lived".
Additionally, his performance against those assassins is quite ridiculous; even severely wounded and without a lightsaber, he uses the Force to literally shred them with telekinesis and punch through body parts, to the point where investigators assumed that they were killed by explosives.

1. Power does not equate to combat efficiency, necessarily.
2. And? Bane in RoT has turned a gang of Technobeasts into dust with a Force Wave.

Darth Plagueis was a Sith at the end of Bane's line while Bane was the founder. Plagueis would have surpassed him due to the RoT.

Except that when Zannah challenged Bane in DoE, he was noticeably weaker than in RoT due to both age and lack of Orbalisks.
Also--It's not like Plagues fought and defeated Tenebrous or anything--The Rule of Two can't exactly be used as proof here as he kinda cheated.

You're still comparing two ends of the RoT line.
And Sidious and Plagueis noted that their powers increased tremendously after kinda cheating. If continuous power boosts over a thousand years, Plagueis should be beyond Bane.

Is Plagueis's midichlorian manipulation shown to be of any use in combat, or something that he can summon quickly and easily?

Oh I agree. But considering several members of the Ro2 have "cheated" than it can't be used as proof.

If this is the case then the Jedi & Sith of banes day must have been a complete joke, all taken down by a lord 1/10th the strength of the movies era Sith. Kas'im for example?
in combat, Peak Bane takes Peak Plagueis for me.

Remember that DoE Bane--Who is notably weaker than RoT Bane--Was the one that Zannah defeated. And like she planned to--There are many Sith during that 1,000 years that had simply waited until their masters were withered with age before murdering them. They progressed, but at a slowed rate due to some certain Sith.
At any rate, Orbalisk Bane should be on the level of Plagues and Tenebrous if DoE Bane is not.

Zannah was still lucky to win, i think the will of the force plays a part in the changing of the guard as well. out with the old in with the new.

She didn't plan on Bane becoming old. She thought he was trying to trick her into attacking before she was strong enough, thus making her unworthy. Once she felt her and Bane were equals she decided to strike.
RoT Bane wins
Rath Deadmark
Bane, both are equally matched in almost every aspect. but bane gets the edge because he has faced and defeated many more jedi and sith duelists. I cannot say the same for plagues. and bane didnt get drunk and fall asleep and get killed by zannah!!

True. But there's a reason why Sidious was afraid of taking Plagueis on in a fair fight.
True. But, again, Palpatine heavily insinuates that, prior to Sidious's own rise to power, Plagueis may have been more powerful than any sith lord to have lived before him.
