Takes place on a flat, open terrain. Who wins?

Uh, Bane, I guess. Vitiate fights are so weird, he gets slaughtered if his opponent can engage him, but he's deadly at ranged combat.

So really here, all we have to base how this fight would go on is Vitiate's performance against Revan, really. I'd personally say Bane is as strong or stronger than Revan, and he did pretty well against Vits while on a highly potent Dark Side Nexus. I'm inclined to give him the win for this one.

Vitiate's got power, but he's a combat newb.

It depends on the distance. Keep in mind with the Revan vs Vitiate fight, Revan was 120 feet away from Vitiate and yet nearly killed him. I'm sure Bane at a normal duel distance can defeat Vitiate.

Darth Bane SLAUGHTERHOUSE

Vitiate telepathy. Maybe not easily though.

Bane seems to have the physical strength and defensive coverage to be able to capably defend against Vitiate's lightning.

With his sheer speed, skill, and inertia ability, he could probably cut down Vitiate's projections with consummate ease.

Bane's got some of the best mental fortitude feats in the mythos, so he could defend against Vitiate's telepathy with high difficulty, if Vitiate is even capable of applying it without prep.

And finally, Bane has the speed, unpredictability, and superior tactical ingenuity to be able to close the gap and engage Vitiate in melee combat, where he would win for sure.

I'm assuming Bane isn't 120 feet away like you are implying ^
An average duel battle is normally only a couple meters apart, he should be able to finish Vitiate quickly.
