Plaguies, yeah. He'll turn it into a Force Battle, and there he wins.

Vader would be more competitive in a force only battle imo.

I'm going to note that Vader has not really had a problem with speedy foes, and probably has a skill edge in saber.

Vader hasn't encountered anybody who even remotely approaches Plagueis in speed level, except Palpatine. I'm assuming this is Legends, though, so Vader doesn't compete with Plagueis in speed.

Is Plagueis really going to really be all that much faster than, say, Luke?

And sure, Plagueis is fast. It didn't stop others from dueling with him, ones less formidable than Vader. Skill and foresight can counteract speed.

RotJ Luke? Yes, Plagueis is faster. Significantly.

I'd still be more convinced if his speed had actually won him a duel.

It did against the army of Kursid warriors, tbh.

And his only other duels would've been against Venamis and presumably spars against Tenebrous/Palpatine, all of whom outclass Vader in speed too.
