Dude got hit by a Finn.

Even compared to Luke, Kylo's way too clunky and slow. Despite the all the hype the visual dictionary gives him, he kind of swings his saber wildly. If it wasn't for him obviously being Force Sensitive, and Finn being probably not, I'd honestly say Finn would have killed him.

Getting additional training is even part of his motive.

I get the impression the Knights of Ren are kinda like inquisitors, and Kylo is one aiming to be 'Sith'- or whatever Snoke is.

A wounded talented youngster sliced him up, and yea, a non-force sensitive (or at minimum, one not as awake as Rey) with more melee training did well against him. Even wounded, a strong force user shouldn't be so pressed.

Luke stomps, this whiny little biatch with daddy and granddaddy issues.

Nephthys
Ren is better than ESB Luke.
