Ok, so a lot of you think Thanaton will rip Maul in a contest of Force power - which shouldn't exactly be hard - but what about the Count? Can his sorcery overcome the Count's probable edge in power?
The Ellimist
Dooku crushes him.
Ziggystardust
Any credible opinions?
UCanShootMyNova
Good fight. Favoring Dooku.

At best, you could argue that Thanaton has more "displayable" knowledge, but even that's arguable. Tyranus has the better showings and accolades. I can't see Thanaton doing anything unless he gathers a Storm. At that point, it's arguable, but I'd still favor the Count.
Tondemonai
Thanaton via sorcery that I doubt Dooku has any counter for. Good fight

Considering that even Asajj knew complex Sith Sorcery spells and she complained that Dooku had only taught her the lesser arts, I'm going to have to disagree with that. Dooku also studied from Andeddu's holocron, and he excelled at attacking the mind. He was also a Sith Sorcerer, IIRC.
The Ellimist
Dooku knows sorcery, and he's just far more powerful overall.

Fair point. Did he ever use it in combat? I'm trying to remember if he did, but I can't. The only times I remember him doing it was through ritual.

Is this Tyranus or Thanaton you're talking about?
Thanaton used one when he got the first strike against Nox. Tyranus used some in The Final Showdown which weren't rituals, but he was at a safe distance and wasn't in any threat of combat. In both cases, they used their Sorcery on a whim, but not in the heat of battle.
MythLord
Tyranus ragdolls him.
Azronger
Tyranus. His Telekinesis is enough to ragdoll, and he can counter his spells and lightning.
Tondemonai
Tbh Thanaton's Force defenses are (IMO) enough to resist most of Dooku's attacks. I definitely agree that he has much better TK, but not nearly strong enough to ragdoll, lol. On another note, what are some good lightning feats for Dooku? I've never really been impressed by it, just seems pretty basic.
XSUPREMEXSKILLZ
Dooku, lol.

Why isn't Dooku powerful enough to outright destroy Thanaton with the Force? He's destroyed Asajj Ventress in her prime day, and her raw power is definitely in league with Thanaton's own(her TK is, as well).
Thanaton's only better than Kenobi and Ventress tiers due to his sorcery and versatility.
And on the topic of lightning feats: Dooku has pressured Yoda, could've killed Quinlan Vos while injured and killed Asajj Ventress while injured. Just these feats are above Thanatons, tbh.
Ziggystardust
Dooku might be too powerful here, but I still don't think he's as learned as Thanoton in the art of combative sith lore, perhaps he can surprise Dooku with an Ace in his sleeve.
S_W_LeGenD
Darth Thanaton via his vastly superior Sith Sorcery.
SunRazer
Based on what is it vastly superior?
Nephthys
One-shotting Nox is a better combat feat than anything Dooku's done with sorcery, imo.
The Ellimist
Dooku wouldn't need sorcery to one-shot Nox at that point in the game.

That doesn't make Thanaton better at Sorcery in general. There's also Elm's point.
Do you consider the one-shotting to be because Thanaton was that much stronger or because Nox didn't know how to counter it? Personally, it's the latter, to me, but IIRC, willpower plays a part in resisting Sorcery.

This is also likely.
