I think Tekken is the best. I've played a lot of fighting games and lately haven't seen many good ones. For MK, you basically have to go through the tutorial if you want to beat the game. They disguise as Konquest Mode. It's explaining how to use the controls!! Come on!

Guilty Gear XX #Reload for 2D. (never tried Isuka, but 4 players in 1 screen sounds pretty damn fun)

Well for others, Tekken Tag/5, SSBM.

Soul Calibur's great but a bit button mashy.

I dont even have Soul Calibur, my friend has it on GC.
But its statistics exceed Tekken, i think? I dont know about gameplay but i cna say estalgic players would more likly to prefer SC.

If you want an ultimate portable fighter though, go for Street Fighter Alpha 3 for GBA. That game is a dream come true.

But for the sake of argument, we'll say that's the best 3-D fighter.

The best 2-D fighter is Guilty Gear XX, clearly.

SF owns 2d sir, but for 3d Doa, isn't as high on gameplay, or any 3d fighter for that matter.

Tekken2

Mortal kombat- Its very violent and bloody. I like games like that.

Dead or Alive- That game is interesting.....if u know what i mean. Also really cool combos

Street fighter- Frist fighting game I ever played

Dragon ball Z- Im so good at those games. I beaten them all.

I'm going to say SF is the only one out of all of those, truly taken seriously by hardcore gamers.

Mugen. Mugen eats all other's for breakfast. . erm. . except for the 3d fighters. . . But it's the best 2D fighting game.

Mugens not a fighting game.. its an engine that allows crossovers, nothing more heh..

3d fighters aren't as hardcore, and usually don't need more skill.

It's a fighting game maker, it allows you to pit whoever you want against each other. DBZ vs Street fighter vs Capcom Vs SNK vs MK etc . . etc. . etc. . ad infintum.

You can have your own characters thrown in as well. Custom characters.

It is the ULTIMATE fighting game.

have you fought a veteral soul calibur'ist?... chances are you wont land a hit.. parry system rocks.. its probably the reason I dont like tekken.. but T2 I slaved over.. 5 is just as great.. xcept steve is a little bit overpowering.. hopefully thats fixxed in 5.1

I've personally always been partial to the Tekken series.

The best fighting game that I have played is Street Fighter 3:3rd Strike, second one would be Super Smash Bros. Melee and 3rd would be Cap. vs. SNK:2.

Smash brothers by far but the best human fighting game is marvel vs capcom 2

The most common Game I see that mostly everyone likes is Super Smash Bros. Melee, which is good, because I'm really good at it with Mario.

I gotta go with the Soul Caliber series. Exceptional story, characters, and mechanics (IMO).
