Well...in my opinion...they come like this

1-Vader vs. Obi-wan-EPIII

3-Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar and Saesee tiin vs. Palpatine

1. Vader vs Luke in Empire Strikes Back
2. Qi-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Maul
3. Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Anakin in ROTS

1: vader vs. luke-ESB
2: obi-wan vs. anakin/vader-ROTS
3: vader vs. luke-ROTJ

Just for the hell of it...

1. THE DUEL
2. Vader vs Luke on Bespin
3. Duel of the Fates

1. Obi vs Anakin ROTS
2. Yoda vs Palps ROTS
3. Luke vs Vader ROTJ

Obi vs vader in anh was awful. Looked like two 80 year old men fighting with sticks. I know, old movie, but still, just pitiful.

Best duel has to be sidious VS Yoda when they rise in the senate chamber. Great computer animation there.

Tied for a close 2nd is obi qui vs maul. Maybe even the best duel.

3rd for me is in jedi, Luke defeating Vader. Love that Dark side vibe you get from luke as he pounds at vader with his baseball bat...errr I mean light sabre

The fights in the original trilogy are just plain lame shouldn't be on the list.

The 3 best fights are:

1. Darth Maul vs Obi-wan and Qui Qon gin TPM

2. Anikin versues Ob-wan ROTS

3. Yoda versues Darth Sidious ROTS

i didn;t like the fight in ESB. it wasn't the actual fighting that made that scene great.

ESB overall I think is the best. I could write a ton about what I think but I don't feel like it all you prequel lovers can go see ROTS again I'll just stay home and watch the OT.

I don't see why people go 'oh, the Prequel fights are more exciting, more jumping, more exploding, more flashing, yatta yatta yatta, blah blah blah.' But you know what? They're not as...er...'emotional' I'll say...or maybe 'dramatic'...as Vader vs. Luke on Bespin, or Vader vs. Luke on the Second Death Star.

Personally, the Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon vs. Maul fight was flashy...but it was actually the most like the original duels...kind of.

I agree with you rex, but i hate the New Hope duel. I take that back i dont hate it. Some conversation is exchanged, and ben gives himself up which is very important. The fighting itself though is completley lame.

Yeah i get what you mean by the more flashy thing. My seven year old cuzin, he wont watch the OT, but he's watched AOTC, and TPM about 800 times. It's just sad how people cant see past things, and only look at how cool it is.

Sit him down and force him to watch the OT, or I'll eat him.

And I meant that in the best possible way.

You ar right about the TPM duel, it was flashy, and i think thats why i liked it so much. I think it also had some of the best emotion out of all the fight scenes from star wars.

maul and qui-gon was nice aswell. I know it was short, but it insinuated the power and threat of the sith.

the best fights were:

3Sidious vs. Yoda
i chose number 1 because it shows how foolish ani was. it was the fight of a padawan and his master.
i chose 2 because it was the first time we saw the master of the force fight. it was actually pretty amazing to finally see how good this yoda was. he was supposed to be amazing but we never saw him in action.
i chose 3 because it shows yoda's failure to destroy palpatine.

Most touching/emotional fights:

1Luke vs. Vader-ESB
2Luke vs. Vader-JEDI
3Obi-Wan/QuiGon vs. Mau l

i chose 1 coz luke found out the truth about his father. it was pretty sad.
i chose 2 because Luke finally found the good in his father. it was sad when he unmasked him.
i chose 3 because the one who found the chosen one died. I liked QuiGon. It tried to show us that the sith should not be underestimated. I just love the part where obi-wan catches qui gons lightsaber and jumps up, that part was just too cool.

Overall: I personally love Ani vs. Obi-Wan. Best duel ever! The OT rocks and is in my opinion better than the PT anyways. May the force be with you!

In my honest opinion I don't really know..

Dooku/Yoda stuck with me, even though it didn't decide anything.
Sidious/Mace was a really impressive one in a lot of aspects.
And Luke/Vader ESB is of course the best worked out one.
