Has anybody seen the Justice League/Batman Beyond episode called Epilogue? It basically entails a story of how Terry McGinnis is actually Bruce Wayne's son. Anyway, there's a story about Project Cadmus, Amanda Waller, etc. (idk if I'm spelling those right). But my point of this post is because part of it involves the Royal Flush gang and the character known as Ace.

If you have access to downloading this episode, I highly, highly suggest you watch it. Its all about Batman, so if you hate Superman, don't worry lol. Anyway, the part in question here is with Ace.

If you don't have access to downloading this episode, look below, I'm giving an outline of what part I'm talking about. If you can watch it, watch it before you read this thread.....

SPOILERS BELOW

Ace is thought to, very soon, die, and Amanda Waller wants her dead to make sure she doesn't destroy everything in range of miles from her. Batman takes the device to kill Ace with, but just sits down and talks to her. I'll give you a script of it if you want, but I don't feel like putting it in here now, I'm lazy lol. Batman basically talks to Ace, where she reveals that she knows what he's doing, and that she's scared to die. She asks him to stay with her, and he does, and she dies. Ace is a villain, but it was one of the saddest things I've ever seen on a cartoon. The fact that she's a villain made it even more sad, cause Batman cared enough for an evil person to sit there and stay with them while they passed on. I thought this was a great sight of Bruce's character, and also, of Ace's. I was never a fan of Ace, seeing as I'm not a comic book reader, I just watch the shows and whatnot, and I've only seen Ace maybe a total of three times in my years....but now I love the character and I want to find out as much as possible. RF gang can go to hell, Ace is the cool one...who'da thunk that a little girl would be so menacing like that. I love it, lol. Your thoughts?

Joker1237
have not seen it, But the Joker USED her in Wild Cards.

I do not think Ace is evil.

dawsey28
Yeah, Ace is cool.

I'm okay because I downloaded the episode but, man, you might want to put a spoiler warning in the title of this thread.

That episode will air next Saturday.

But anyway, the Ace character in the comics was usually a big musclebound guy. http://galileo.spaceports.com/~xsufiru/legions/RoyalFlushGang.htm

I don't know if you have seen the Batman Beyond episodes where Terry fights the future version of The Royal Flush Gang, but even there Ace is a big musclebound guy. http://www.mindeclipse.com/batmanbeyond/char/rfgpic.htm

But there have been quite a few changes in the gang throughout the years.

So, I'm not sure if that reality/mind-warping Ace was ever in the comics or if she was just a Timverse creation.

You can use Google.com or a google search engine to find quite a bit about The Royal Flush Gang.

NoFate007
Hm...I don't remember that version of Ace, I just remember the little girl. I like her better, there's enough "tough-guys" in comics.

Darth Macabre
That version of Ace isnt a man at all actually. He's a android (robot), with super strength.

NoFate007
When did the Royal Flush gang become popular? Or, hell, when did they exist? I only know them from TAS

Darth Macabre
Im pretty sure there first appearance was in 1966. I believe it was Justice League of America # 43. Ofcourse it wasnt the same gang that we see in Beyond or even Justice League cartoon but it was the Royal Flush Gang. I might be wrong on this so if anyone can correct me?

NoFate007
I know Ace and a version of the RF gang was on an episode with Batman and the Joker...idk if that was TAS or Justice League or whatever though.

Kieralinn
The little girl Ace is only in the JL/JLU eps, as far as I know NOT in the comics.

I actually teared up watching that last night. He held her hand through the whole thing, and when he carried her out....sad. Another reason to love Bruce. It seemed to me Amanda Waller definately has a thing for him after a while, the way she talked about him and said "How come all you Superheroes are so goodlooking/handsome"...to Terry.

That is a great episode...so glad I have it.

NoFate007
Yeah I really, really liked it a lot too. Just proves how awesome Batman is, nobody on the Justice League is better than him lol

Darth Macabre
The Ace in the Justice League episode is based off of "Psycho Pirate" I believe.

I was just about to say that the ACE i know/remember is the big muscular dude (android, ok ok). In Batmand Beyond, they didn't even go to the trouble of giving his face more human characteristics sad And tossing him down an elevator shaft (or whatever it was) with a couple of grenades was pretty awesome laughing

I think there were two though. The first one is the one i'm talking about. Then later on there's another one where Deuce starts stealing to "save her kidnapped parents" that weren't really kidnapped......right?

Are you talking about Once Burned? Where Ten tries to save her family from the Jokerz Gang?

Yeah, that was the second one. Though she was called Deuce, not 10 wink
And she just thought she was saving them from the Joker Gang

That was a very powerful scene. One of my favourite moments from JLU.

"I thought this was a great sight of Bruce's character, and also, of Ace's." Exactly.

You pretty much said it perfectly, except that Ace wasn't evil. Dangerous certainly, but not evil.

I especially liked when she told Batman she knew that he never intended to kill her. As she says it, she seems happy for a second.

Joker1237
"I not afraid of you, I know what it is like to scare other people. Thats why I not afraid of you"

Ace to the Joker.

I loved that line.
