Do you think this game will be as good as the Sonic Adventures?

considering shadow went ghetto and now shoots people.. me thinks not..

Yea whats with that, he has speed, why would he need guns?

Shadow has:
Chaos Blast (Special Move)
Chaos Control (Special Move)
A Sword
A Gun
A Rocket Launcher
and a bunch of other stuff not yet revealed. Plus the first Sonic game that let's you chose if you want to be good or evil. It looks pretty cool.

sonic teams time would be better spent trying to re-invent sonic (and what made it so fun to begin with), rather than just adding a bunch of pointless abilities to a character (he's cool dont get me wrong) who hasnt had much story to him since his debut in sonic adventures 2

even better anyway shadow shows his true power and the powers he uses in the other games

Yeah think off Shadow as a really fast E-102 or E-123.

My son is a big fan of Shadow, so I'm sure he'll love it. Not sure about the guns bit though.

Alright it's not Shadow's past (50 years ago) or future:

Shadow The Hedgehog game picks up the story after Sonic Heroes. Playing through the game will allow the player to help Shadow, and in turn themselves, discover what really happened.

Oh God, this game is just like Sonic Heroes but with a gun and a black Sonic.

They need to quit with these crappy Sonic games. They really do suck.

Gimme a 2D (done with amazing 3D graphics, but with a side-on scrolling view) Sonic game and that'll be fine.

I read somewhere that Sonic Adventures wasn't a good game.

I wouldn't know though, I haven't played it.

Shadow doesn't need guns, what the heck he do with them anyway? Guns? Shadow? He has powers for crying out loud!

Like I said, they can keep doing this gimmicky shit. It aint gonna change the fact that we all want a 2D Sonic game, with JUST Sonic, doing Sonic-y things.

Why can't they do a SOnic game in 2D but with graphics like Paper Mario or Smash Bros. 2D gameplay but 3D visuals.

Sonic doesnt work in 3D, and he's slower.

Shadow and his guns can kiss my arse.

I would have to agree...but I'm getting it anyway, I can't turn down a Shadow game, even if he does use guns...

It's out 27th Nov. Oh, about a week! Yay! Infact, even though he has a gun, it doesn't seem that bad, just makes him look badder. Plus for distant enimies he can shoot them away from them.

I don't know. I still think he shouldn't have one. Half of me says "What the heck is he doing with a gun!? He doesn't need a gun, he has speed!" While the other said is saying "It doesn't seem that bad."

I am really confused...

Nov. 27th? For where. It came out the 15th down here. The game is really fun...a lot better then Sonic Heroes. I usually go around with a saber and kill anyone that gets in my way. Using Chaos Control and Chaos Blast is very very fun.

In the UK. We haven't got it yet but I will buy it, looks good.

It is good. You can get 10 different endings. I got 3 at the moment.

My favorite mission is mission 2 Hero Side. You can get a motorcycle in that one.

I'll like to ride a snowboard like from the first Hero level in Sonic Adventure 2. Have it black with fire on it! Oh yeah, that I would love!

I wish a board was in it. That would be cool but you get to race Sonic in one of the levels.

Being a 12+ is a great thing! Bit of strong language & violence. I like 12 rated games better than 15's & definetly 18's, they suck big time (most of them! Too much violence.)

Can't wait to get it, might get it for xmas! Xmas day I'll be in my bedroom playing it! What other attacks can he do? Any Chaos Control or other moves?

Good: Chaos Control (Warp far ahead)
Bad: Chaos Blast (Destroy foes from a 20 foot radius)

He has the homing attack still and punching and a lot of weapons

Games officially suck now.

Even Sega have "urbanized" (notice the wicked cool "z" their franchise just like almost every other developer.

Take a super cool, pure character like Sonic The Hedgehog, and f*cking go all EA on it. I know the franchise has been in decline ever since the move to 3D, but this is taking the piss.

A teleporting black version of Sonic, wielding a bike and guns with 'tude and angst. Since when does a teleporting hedgehog need a bike? Why am I even asking this absurd question?

I'm sick of this anti-hero crap. Sonic, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Prince Of Persia, they're all getting "da angst". All we need now is Mario wielding a sword in a beatem up that pits him against the Koopa Gang Ballas, with a side mission consisting of Luigi pimping Princess Peach to the whole of the mushroom kingdom.

Why the hell has the Sonic Universe crossed over with ours? Since when were humans (realistic-ish, unlike Dr Robotnik) ever a mainstay? Cities and streets suck, we want Mobius.

Everytime I see games like this, I keep picturing Peter Griffin sat at at the desk with "Game Designer" written on his door.

You think the game sucks not I. Go to ign.com and the viewers gave it a 8.7 which is pretty good for games now a days. I like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Team did a lot better with it then Sonic Heroes.

Sonic Adventure
Had a mini-kart racing and Gamma was shooting

Sonic Adventure 2
Had 2 racing levels and Tails/Eggman was shooting

I for one find that using a motorcycle made it easier to attack the Black Arms ship for it gave you a more steady control to aim and shot. I saw guns to be a good thing for now you won't have to take chances as much to go in to attack the enemy. Shadow the Hedgehog is a good game that allows you to be Good or Evil. The music is also good. The levels are great for the wied varity of choices you can make. Still it isn't as good as the Gensis Sonics but it beats Sonic Heroes and Sonic Adventure (Which was very slow due to the adventure field crap)

I just got the game

Sonic Heroes was a bit naff. Try flying with Tails, controls well dodgy! I couldn't escape the lava at the end of one level & died! glare Sonic Adventure 2 good, love the Chaos! Only downside is when you jump with Sonic/Shadow. Sometimes they don't just jump, they do a homing attack!

Shadow does not need a bike though & lots of weapons. He's a very powerful hedgehog, he can run at the speed of light. Jak & Daxter is okay with guns & cars, I mean he only used to punch/kick so no big deal. Love it in that game, but not this one!

That thing about Mario with a sword, it just reminded me of Zelda. Sure hope they don't give him at gun or a monster truck, that would so be too much!

Shadow runs at the speed of sound not light. Only when using the lightspeed dash (I'm a Sonic fanboy what can I say?). And yeah Sonic Heroes isn't too great but I love the music. Still at first I hated the idea of Shadow using a gun I thought:

Shadow + Gun = Crappy Game

But I changed since I played the game because I find myself using weapons all the time so now I'm more of a

Shadow + Gun = Kick @$$

I felt the same way about the game

Speed of sound then, same thing. I too loved the music in Sonic Heroes, This Machine is the greatest song ever! They should have this kind of music on Top of the Pops instead of rubbish stuff! Sonic Adventure 2 Battle has great music too. The song when you take down that big monster in space (middle story.)

what if one day, while strolling through the streets of a pleasant hyrule.. link throws down his fairy hat.. wraps a do-rag around his head, whips out two mac-10's and decides hyrule needs a lil "Urbanization" ?.. doesnt that just destroy all that the franchise has done to build its name?.. I would think so

That would be awful! cry I love my Zelda how it is thank you very much! I am still going to get this game, still not happy about guns & motorbikes but there you go.

Zelda won't work like that because Zelda is based in the older days and Shadow was in the present day. Shadow the Hedgehog has some great songs like "I am" and "Chosen" and of couse "All Hail Shadow." I love the game. It is a lot better then Sonic Heroes (Even through This Machine is the greatest Sonic song of all time) and better then Sonic Adventure 1, because I felt the adventure field made the game slow instead of being fast paced like Sonic Adventure 2.

SA2 was definately much better.. I just feel as though sonic team spends way too much of their development time shoving mini games in, when they could be implimenting more of the main gameplay elements..

i.e. "Ok you're sonic, go save the world.. OMG wait!... look at these cute chao!"

I like the Chao. Sonic Adventure 2 is the best of the newer games with Sonic Advance 3 second and then it is a tie between Sonic Rush and Shadow the Hedgehog

Okay, this is when my 'girly' side shows....oh Chao are sooo cute! I hate one called Suki (just changed it from Topaz.) She or he is a blue angel Chao & so sweet. She/he died once to be born again (when in a pink cacoon, look on internet for more details) & when it's born again, can make it an immortal Chaos Chao!

Once it was level 99 on everything, I mean everything! Lots of fruit & animals, then when it was born again, everything goes back to one. So mad about that!

But I'm no girly girl only because I love Chao's (awww), after all, I love so many non girly stuff. Looks something like this:

Yeah Chaos are cool. I had 3 reborn again but 1 did and vanished forever and that was my favorite chao. Cheese is cool.

It's not necessarily the fact that it uses guns and cars that makes it naff, it's because Sonic has never worked in 3D, and the whole Shoadow spin-off game reeks of formulaic repetition.

The Sonic Adventure games are dire. Sonic Heroes was abysmal, and Shadow The Hedhog is just as bad, but unlike the others, Shadows game has lost that simplistic likability factor that the old school 2D ones once prided themselves with.

It's just Sonic Adventure, a game that I thought was amazingly average, except all "urbanised" and "cool". It's such a boring, lame and in my opinion, rediculous concept. The lack of context and a distinct style is also troubling. To see the likes of Dr. Robotnik mixing it up with real-style Earth humans is just bizarre, and the constant references of the real world makes me wonder just what Team Sonic are thinking.

Lets face facts here, if Sonic wasn't such a big hit back on the Megadrive, these new 3d games would be dismissed as average granny-tricking platformer crap and it's only in the hope that maybe, one day, Sonic will return to his past glory, that is actually keeping the franchise alive.

I just have a problem with Sonic games not being Sonic games. Sonic is 2D, high speed platforming with bright and colourful, interesting visuals. Shadows game is as far from a good Sonic-like game you could come up with.

I view Shadow as a victim of the machine that is the video games industry. Video games are really starting to bore me in general, save a few.

I have to disagree strongly there. Sonic works great in 3D, especially when running. I love the old games, they were true classics. But 3D Sonic games are good too. Sonic Adventure & " " 2 Battle were good. Sonic Heroes okay but not great.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I can't stand Sonic in 3D.

Just wait for the new Sonic game to come out on the 360 and PS3. They only characters will be Sonic, Tails, and Eggman. They are going back to their roots and making the new Sonic game one to be worth your time and money.

If you don't like Sonic in 3D, fair enough. If you don't, you don't, but I like it in 2D & 3D but 3D more; they are more fun instead of just running about. Looking for Emerald pieces is my favourite. The bosses are more in depth too instead of just bashing Robotnik's machine.

Nope just Sonic and Tails and Eggman. Sonic Team is basically starting the Sonic saga over. And Sonic is the best character that's why he is the star (that and the game Knuckles had sucked). it may come out for the Nintendo but the release date for Sonic is suppose to be before the Rev. comes out.

I could care less what other people say about a game. I like Shadow the Hedgehog.

And I couldn't care less of what you say, Shadow the Hedgehog is a terrible and broken game. Just because the character's likeness are there doesn't mean it's a good game. You seem like the type of fanboy that would support any Sonic game, be it a Grand Theft Auto interpretation or any deviation. Shadow with a gun? Come on. The last two Sonic games for consoles have been piss-poor in quality. The next-gen installments show potential, but we'll see.

Indeed they are. I thoroughly enjoyed Sonic Advance 2 and 3, and played a demo of Rush at a local gaming store.

I don't like Sonic Heroes. I like the music and last boss fight but that's it.

I personally hate it, and everything it stands for, but that doesn't mean someone won't enjoy it.

I'm getting Sonic Rush after playing it on a friends DS, looking forward to that. Even though I have a PSP I am really looking forward to getting my DS, Mario Kart and Sonic Rush.

Not in my point of view. Shadow is a good game because if you go to reviews where actual players rate it they normally give it a 8.5

ok ok hold on a second just a second ago you were getting mad at a person who listened to a review.

but anywho rented this piece of crap wasted good money too i used to be a sonic fan but these new things are crap i hated this its is like impossible to shoot anything and the camera is terrible i quit okaying after a short while i give this game a 3 out of 10

I just recently got this game with some christmas money and got it over Sonic Heroes. I've liked Shadow since his first apperance, and yet I was plesently surprised by the game itself. It is now without flaws and there have been times where I have simply tried a target jump, hit the enemy and gone sailing over the edge into death. The use of choosing your own path is good, yet the level designs are very much opinion. I found it so frustrating chasing Eggman on Neutral when battling the three Shadow androids...until i got a targeted rocket-launcher and blasted them to pieces. I've also tested the good and evil sides for a few levels, but find myself going back to neutral for my first stab at completing the game. The use of the guns is a little wierd in my opinion, but they help, but I did want something more from a Shadow-based game. I'm now waiting for a Metal Sonic based game.

A game such as that might not be a bad idea...it might be a better sucess than this game. Damn game! no

It is sooooo awesome. I lurve Shadow the Hedgehog. I have eight of the ten endings and cannot stop obsessing over it.

It took me about 1 hour to finish dark mode on first level! You gotta shoot all 35 guards which is a right hard task! The last 4 were a challenge to find! Only way to find them was to get my blue bar full & go through some of the level while destroying what's around me.

This wasn't the first time I finished the level though, I finished in normal mode first time. Music good though, love 'I Am' I think it's called. Too bad the game isn't has good as it's music. cry

I like listening to the music while I'm on the computer.

The music's awsome! I love I Am (All I Am)! I want the full versain, I only have the minute & half one on my computer but there's more because I have the lyrics.

You can get it by defeating Devil Doom (for the game)

Devil Doom is my favorite 2nd favorite Sonic final boss. (first is FinalHazard) It is cool the way he throws bulidings at you. Hey did anybody notice how sonic seems to be getting even more like DBZ as the series goes on? (I mean Shadow now can shoot out blast's, and blast through buildings now.)

That's not new. Sonic did something just like that as Super Sonic in Sonic Advance 1
