Silver Surfer is able to absorb energy. He absorbed all of Hulk's gamma radiation, forcing him to revert back to banner.

...so! Surfer absorbs Superman's solar energy reserves. Then what?

Surfer can defeat Superman. Martian Manhunter is a much better match for Surfer than is Superman.
