Draco69
Danger kicked the X-Men's ass in the recent issue of Astonishing X-Men.

How would Storm's team fare?

I think they'd die.

Crimson Phoenix
I still think danger would take it. She knows all the x mens weekness. Cant wait to see how xavier's gonna fight her

Draco69
The theory of Danger's weakness is that only those who fought in the Danger Room and trained in it would fall victim to her calculations. Xavier to my knowledge has NEVER trained in the Danger Room. So if say the Fantastic Four were to train in the Danger Room, Danger would have more difficulty defeating them.

stormfront13
i bet they could do it- they got storm, bishop, nightcrawler, wolverine, x-23, psylock, rachel summers, and isn't cannonball supposed to be on the team? even though they have all trained in the danger room, at least i think they have i think they have a good chance. and isn't this team bigger than astonishings?

Draco69
It is bigger. However the Danger Room would probaly nullify all of their powers. It's like Nimrod. Except Nimrod has been studying the X-Men for years.

stormfront13
then nightcrawler teleports dangers head off, but thats if it is actually like nimrod. rogue used this battle stregety against nimrod and it worked

Draco69
Danger would just grow another one.

stormfront13
lol well considering i haven't seen much about danger i shouldn't be posting, but can anyone provide any info on her?

Wynndar
i havent read that issue yet, what did she do to beat them?

DarkCrawler
Here is one pic. Don't read it unless you want to be spoiled.

Soviet on a stick! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

stormfront13
in that pic is someone dying?

FieryBalrog
I didnt like this danger-room-becomes-sentient plotline. its been done before with Cerebra. mad

and why is wolverine on every team ever?? X-23s already on the team for chrissakes.

Wickerman
If Bishop + Storm + Wolverine can take on Nimrod, then all of them together can take on Danger wink

astonishing is a pretty weak team right now power wise, although I like it character-wise. Except for the Emma-Scott romance sick laughing

stormfront13
is it posible for storm to affect the electro-magnetic fields to shut danger down? its just a thought but it might work, but maybe not. and wickerman are you refering to the animated show where they took down nimrod?

Talking yes, bout that episode in which they take him down. Basically Storm and Bishop did everything. Storm froze the guy up, Bishop shot at him making him explode into many little pieces (that later reunited, true). However, i don't think Storm has that whole electro-magnetic field going on for her. Otherwise she would've tapped into that power ages ago and used it. Magneto is sole master of the Electro-magnetic field wink

stormfront13
no, she has it, and can manipulate them well. and in that episode, storm is the one that beta nimrod, she just blasted him with a bunch of lightning to the point where he exploded

Draco69
Danger would just block it. She knows EXACTLY how and what her opponents are going to do.

And Cerebra is competely different from the Danger Room.

Either way, Nimrod didn't have enough knowledge of them and their powers by then anyway wink
As for electro-magnetism, she'd never come close to Magneto big grin

Its the same concept. advanced AI technology goes crazy and attacks x-men.

And I really couldnt take the story seriously... it seemed a contrived plot.

stormfront13
oh i know, but i was just aying that she culd and maybe it would work

It's similar. However there's one defining difference. It's written MUCH better. And Danger is a far cooler villian than Cerebro.

It wouldn't. By the time Storm even thinks of using an EMP, Danger has already set up several countermeasures. It knows her every weakness and exactly how she will fight. It's like a director who has every possible knowledge of the written script.

Like Xavier said: "It's predestined."

yea... its still not a great idea though. Also, why did they have to give the danger room a humanoid figure? It was at least kinda cool when it was disembodied and all around them. But "personifying" it, I thought, was a cop out and pretty lame. Something I'd expect from Silver Age plots stick out tongue

Draco69
That's your opinion. I think Danger is one of the most provocative X-villians in years. She's evil for the hell of it.

stormfront13
do you think danger will try to take over shiar?? doesn't the danger room have shiar technology?

evil for the hell of it? thats a new quality in an x-men villain? stick out tongue

but yea, agree to disagree and all that. cool

Draco69
I doubt it. Her only goal is to finally kill the X-Men. After years of attacking the X-Men in the Danger Room and failing she'll finally has the luxury of completing her original programming: to kill the X-Men. However the failsafes and protocols have always prevented it.

stormfront13
do you think she'll go after every person to ever train in the danger room?

Compared to Magneto, Juggernaut and Apocylapse (Who all lame villains "Bah I wanna take over the world Woo hoo) She just wants to beat and humilate the X-Men to be "complete".

Ord, Cassandra Nova and Danger are all quality new wave villains for the X-Men. They should get rid of the old and bland villains.

Yes. Especially her "creator" Charles Xavier. However the major edge that Xavier has is that he is "incalculable". He's never trained in the Danger Room. Thus Danger is at a major disadvantage.

It was a great idea on Xaviers part to put the fail-safe code in a separate, non-core module.

They should have built it like Asimovs robots, except with the first law written:

1) never allow a human/mutant to come to harm through inaction

that way she could attack them all she wanted, but if she knew they couldnt handle it, she would be forced to save them.

Draco69
That would be redundt in my opinion. A villian that attacks and saves you at the same time?

"Oh I'm not really gonna hurt you! I'm just gonna lightly jab your chests."

For the old villains, Mags is definitely interesting, he should always be around. Juggs isnt a villain anymore and Apoc is, I agree, kinda boring.

I think Ord is pretty uninteresting. The only interesting thing about him is that through him we find out that one of the x-men is going to destroy breakworld. Which means either Jean is coming back insane (almost certainly not) or Cyclops is harboring Apocalypse evil face

I liked Cassie Nova a lot though. She was really brutal in that comic where she trashes beast, I was actually horrified by a villain for the first time in a while. smokin'

stormfront13
i think they should make this into a major story-line or something. like gather everyine that has ever trained in the danger room and have daanger fight them or something?? wouldn't she go after magneto also?? and didn't spidey train in there before?

well I meant it would have been smart of Charles. Obviously danger couldnt be a villain then. Although it would be funny if she tried to be.

Draco69
Charles always has his head in the sand. He doesn't understand the meaning of preparation. He KNEW the Danger Room was gonna become sentinent and a killing machine someday. But obviously he wasn't smart enough to tell anybody or set up a failsafe.
