ryu is a far more experienced fighter than cap. he would need a bigger challenge to keep the fight going on for awhile

I dont see the shield as a huge problem here. Cap throws the shield, ryu dodges and hadoukens cap in the head.

One shoryuken, and Cap's gone. Ryu has fought Gouki and impressed him. Hell, he's made Gouki go all out. Didn't win, but still a huge feat.

its a close match Actually Ryu is faster, stronger, and more durable. He's able to survive a battle with freakin Akuma. Akuma the same guy who destroyed an island with a punch.

Cap is able to survive in fights against Hulk.
