Our Gods? Asgardians, Olympians, and all of the rest of those pantheon/pagan type characters aren't truly Gods. They're more like powerful alien life forms. A God, as in the one true God would technically have no peers.

Are there references of a multiverse in other cultures/religions?

Imo, if I had to go there, I'd say stalemate,
although it's as unprovable as any opinion any may have.

that have been portrayed as literally "The God" or like unto "The God."

(like Genesis and Jim Jaspers, or classic IG then pre-retcon HOTI, etc)

There have been others that were not labeled "The God,"
but were portrayed in the status of "The God" ...

(like Owen in original SW then at the end of the new SW or HOM Wanda,
or insane Genis, Beyonder race while located withIN the Beyond Realm, etc)

I'm not taking into account TOAA,
because as historically depicted, everything/anything is because they will it.

I'm not taking into account AAO,
because I'm not sure what the hell is going on with present Marvel cosmology,
and it seems, that TOAA who was transformed into AAO,
is actual character now intrinsic to reality's hierarchy,
unlike TOAA, who was commonly portrayed as the avatars of Writers/Artists.

So, until further clarification, I'm going to avoid indulging that mystery.
