Can Phoenix defy the rights of spells ftw?

Do you mean a character as an avatar of the Phoenix Force taking on Chthon, or the Phoenix Force itself?

If it's an Avatar empowered by the Phoenix, then Chthon wins.
If it's the Phoenix Force itself, then the Phoenix wins.

What has Chthon done? Not familiar at all with that aspect of comics.

Chthon is vastly overrated. The full PF would roflstomp him. A competent PF avatar would do the same.

He does. But they aren't anything spectacular. The rest is hyperbole or fluff.

Most of his actual combat feats, he was possessing someone. Hard to say if he can reach full power in a host body.
