who wins

DeadpoolXXX
not sure what you mean by "lucifer (geb)", but if you just mean geb, it wins.

lucifer is one and the same with GEB

from lucifer v3 and that Dark Crisis:The Deadly Green

DeadpoolXXX
i mean lucifer v3 definitely wasn't accounted for when dc proper reintroduced geb.

but like i said, if this is just meant to be geb vs the others, it wins.

In Justice League Incarnate #4 we learned that Superboy Prime is just another puppet of the Great Darkness, so he's out.

The Cosmic Armor was destroyed by Mandrakk who "died" by just falling into the Overvoid, who is a peer to the Great Darkness.

This is a stomp on the level of Silver Surfer and Galactus versus the One Above All.

It was also accounted for in Dark Crisis with Constantine's interaction with the Great Darkness. But it could also just have been another puppet of the Great Darkness, since Trigon preceded Lucifer in this particular interaction.

MrMind
lucifer is not a puppet of great darkness, lucifer IS great darkness

Wait, what? Lucifer is the Anti-God now?

In Lucifer vol. 3 it's clearly the intention.

But in the Dark Crisis tie-in it's a lot more ambiguous. Because Trigon also appears as a face of the Great Darkness.

prime redeemed himself and overcame the great darkness when battling TDK. Prime solos.

Thinkerer
Doesnt everything that happens in DC just take place in Superboy-Prime's mind?

So then GEB is nowhere near as powerful as the Presence since the Presence created Lucifer and his twin Michael (along with everything else).

no

Even if you want to interpret it like that it doesn't change the fact that he's nowhere near powerful enough.

No. They're apparently equal: or more aptly, the balance in power shifts between them. It's a complete retcon of Carey's original story.

Wait, so the Presence didn't create Lucifer? He was GEB all along? I'm lost.

That would be the implication, yes. In fact, the Great Darkness predates the Overvoid as per Justice League Incarnate #4.

At this point so is DC. Comics Vs Continuity, Continuity will always lose.

I'm sorry I'm stuck on this but I need clarification, so the Presence never created Lucifer, Lucifer is GEB, GEB predates everything even the Overvoid?
So GEB > Overvoid > Presence? Or GEB > Presence > Overvoid?

So GEB > Overvoid > Presence? Or GEB > Presence > Overvoid?

per dematteis and morrison

the overvoid/source/presence are one and the same, different interpretation of the same god.

none of these are set in stone though. as dc themselves are walking contradiction

GEB predates everything wouldn't mean he is automatically superior in power though, there are other "void" before creation characters in dc history like pralaya and you wouldn't place her above god.

Man, I have a headache trying to figure this out. And I thought Marvel cosmology was a mess. Jeezus.

I know, I've pointed it out.

And **** Neil Gaiman's original introduction of Lucifer where he refers to the Great Darkness as a separate entity and the catalyst of the events that lead up to the current state of affairs.

Is it too much to expect a new writer to at the very least have read up on the first appearances of the characters he's writing about?

thumb up

zopzop
Looking at those scans, I think it was just a lazy writer. I don't think Lucifer is GEB at all.

MrMind
dan watters certainly thinks and he is the latest that has written lucifer so lucifer is geb per canon rules. if you disagree it's ok as well. im sure the next writer will come with a new interpretation

either way this is not what im interested let's just focus on the battle and disregard geb in the title if you want.

Not worth it. You have the choice of taking Lucifer as he's portrayed in comics. If you want to irrationally inflate Lucifer's status in contravention of the comics, then just make that thread. Nothing is stopping you.

But don't pretend that proclaiming a thread where Lucifer = GEB will promote such a notion. Particularly when pretty much nobody here agrees with such a premise.

MrMind
why are you so weird

talk like a normal person for once ffs

Look, I am Dan Waters, and I say I was really high at the time and it's really a joke. You can tell it's not true because it contradicts other stories.

Hope that helps! I'm such a silly moo.

MrMind
that's ok danny boy you are a hipster with receding hairline, we get it midlife crisis is tough

but can you tell odg to stop getting aggressive over fictional characters and just chill out for once?

It never worked, not even once in two decades. Why bother now?

Also, you yourself get too emotional when you protect DC losers from sodomy.

Thinkerer
Lucifer is a bitchboy.

StiltmanFTW
They all are.
