Gladiators overconfidence is what usually leads to his downfall if I were to rethink things. I see that being the reason why he loses.

Gladiator has fared pretty well against supers. He defeated Hyperion (Earth-712?) 1 on 1. He has also did pretty well against Supreme, canon or not.
It could probably go either way, but give Zod a slight advantage.
