Ok, so thanks to Episode 1 we know that the force is more or less created or at least tangible due to the midi-chlorians. On the way to work today i was reading the novel of Episode 1 and it got me thinking about them and more specifically the dark side.

The question i have is this:

If a jedi decides to go over to the dark side, does that mean that the midi-chlorians he was in contact before he changed over are now evil midi-chlorians or do they remain good and then bar all contact with the fallen jedi meaning he is in fact drawing off an alternate energy /power source for his dark side shenanigans?

Its just a general question really. I was interested to know if the midi's can swing either way or they just focus the force light or dark.

errr... the midi-chlorians just are what gets you into "contact" with the force, the more the better you're attuned. They aren't good or evil, they just do the connecting. The Jedi is who deceides if he goes dark or not

Yeah i get that they are the thing that makes contact with the force possible, so by using the force (light or dark) does that not mean that the force then has to flow through them?

so by being a dark side user surely that would result in dark side midi-chlorians or at least dark side tainted midi-chlorians.

i realise this makes no difference or very little impact on anything but just wondered about it on a boring trip to work.

I thought the midi-chlorian limit (the Skywalker Limit, in honor of both Skywalkers) was 20,000 midi-chlorians and if it was broken, it would be by about 100 or 200 midi-chlorians.
