In light of some of the GS-inspired essays we've been reading over the past several months, a question has come to mind that I'd like to turn over to the fellow board scientists and philosophers to ponder and debate.

What exactly is the difference between a dimension, a universe, a reality and a timeline?

The case
========

The Living Tribunal is said to transcend all realities and be a single entity that exists in all planes of existence. Thanos conquered him with HOTU, which should give him domain over all the multiverse. But Adam Warlock came from "another dimension" to witness what happened.

Shaman X-man is said to be the guardian of the "Helix of Earths", able to go up and down the spiral as he saw fit.

The Ultimate Universe is said to be a parallel universe. Yet the very definition of the Phoenix is completely different

Beings like Mephisto and Odin are said to live in other "dimensions".

Many characters are said to derive power and mass from "extra-dimensional" sources

People like Legion and Bishop traveled through time, making changes that caused entirely separate "realities"

Phoenix held a universe in her hand and changed its timeline

Wanda altered reality as she saw fit and completely changed its history. She threatened to destroy all creation and realities.

Exiles said that anytime a change is made to something, it spins off a new "timeline"

the Watcher said that there are infinite realities for every conceivable possibilitiy and variation in all creation

The Squadron Supreme come from an "parallel universe". So do the Squadron Sinister

Asgard and Otherworld exist in another dimension.

DC is another universe

Age of Apocalypse is an alternate timeline from a specific changed event

Yet, Exiles pulled characters from AOA, like Sabretooth and Blink

Exiles can view different realities

Does that make someone like Legion or Fritzroy or other time travelers "reality manipulators", able to create new realities?

Are we all describing the same thing? Or are there clear differences? If so, what are these differences?

i consider a true reality manipulator to be someone who can warp space-time as an active power. a time traveller warps space time as a side effect of their power. so whilst they are reality manipulators, they are not "true" manipulators.


however, when reality is manpulated in their case they create whole new time lines which mkes them more powerful taht the "true" manipulators.


also, if there are an infinite number of universes anyways, the time travellers are not true reality manipulators, but they can side step from one universe to another (as it already exists) and tehre is no manipulation per se becasue eveything is pre ordained

now generally speaking, a dimension is PART of the universe it exists in not outside it, the universe has countless counterparts for every concieveable future there could have been after the big bang or CREATION. this mean that it could be different completely and become an anti matter universe because the diversion happened just after the big bang, or it cud be sumthin as trivial as sum guy bein alive in one universe and dead in another{like the AOA} where an almost insignificant change occured recently. all these UNIVERSES

ok ill try my best to explain. depending on the situation the world REALITY and dimension are tossed about, so is CREATION.

BUT there are exceprions to this, some DIMENSIONS, exist totally outside the bounds of the multiverse like THE BEYOND REALM, or the REALM that adam warlock resides in sumtimes which is also outside the multiverse. also the word CREATION has been used to describe many things, for example, when it is said that the pheonix force became a threat to all CREATION, it means she became a threat to a UNIVERSE. on the othre hand when thanos with THOTU destroyed CREATION, it meant the MULTIVERSE, not the UNIVERSE. same case with wanda, when she was changing all REALITIES she was affectin the multiverse, not the universe{and hence all REALMS contained in each individual universe} REALITY is tossed around a little less than that, and generally it means an unaltered timeline of a UNIVERSE. anyway, thas how i best make sense of it.

some reality manipulaters can create entire realities{universes} like franklin richards but other like wanda, can affect the reality in a way to branch it out to become an entirely different universe, same goes for proteus and legion.

TOAA ------ Gives powers to Beings at multiversal level.

Infinites---- (who bend all reality to their will) ------ has done more than the PF
LT ------ Guardian of all reality
PF -------- Force of creation


Then we have branches of the same abstracts.
Eternity is always the universe of different realities UNIVERS(he was once holding all the universes in his hand) (not dimension)
Chaos/ Order ---------- Abstract that exist in the Nexus all reality (having Multiversal Effect) --------- Perhaps they branch in universal abstract for each reality from its Nexus)
Then we have dimension (perhaps some are beyond the Multiverse) ------- Omniversal beings.

The infinites were said to come from beyond, Cubes power seem to come from a Dimensions that were beyond. (Seem to me like LT didn’t have power over it)

I believe changing reality is just changing ONE UNIVERSE, although it has a multiversal effect since all the reality are connected by abstract and guardians.
