Obi-Wan
What does you think about it?

darthvader_fan
he wasnt fully commited to the dark side, he was also the leader of the sepratists

its just like a thread i had about why he didnt have sith eyes, he wasnt fully commited

henniestevens
He knew the trick wouldn't work against Obi Wan. (see episode II)
So he decided to surprise obi with a new technique. And Obi fell for it with open eyes. Dooku chokes him and then throws him away. (I still dont understand why he didn't threw him on his saber, but thats another question). After that Anakin engages him and he is too busy with his saber to use some lightning. And then he dies..

henniestevens
commitment with the DS has nothing to do with it. Cuz we all know he used lightning is episode 2.

Ushgarak
Of course 'commitment to the Dark Side' is nothing to do with it. Dooku was fully committed.

It's just not very useful in a duel; sabres are the order of the day.

overlord
Ha! Sorgo could've fried them both with force lightning, because as we all know: A donkey always hits his head twice to the same stone.
He just thought.. no, that's too easy.

Bicnarok
His apponents knew how to block it with light saber, plus if you Lighting atttack one of em whats the other going to do, stand by and watch.

It would have been cool to see him lighting with no hands though.

General Deprus
its because he knowed that anakin could not block it and with the treat with darth Sidious, he maybe thought that he should break the treat.

pundarboris
?

henniestevens
he means sidious told dooku to let anakin win, and dooku thought he could accidentally kill anakin with his lightning so he didnt used it

General Zink
Theatrically, it would have detracted from Palpatine's use of Lightning.

Story wise, lightning would have been pretty useless during an intense lightsaber duel. The three opponents that Dooku used it on in AOTC, Anakin was charging towards him from across the room, leaving him ample time to perform his trick, Obi-Wan was circling him from a distance and then blocked it with his lightsaber, and Yoda was also across the room.

It wasn't that Anakin couldn't block it; in AOTC, he was caught off-guard, and expecting to start a lightsaber duel, not be thrown aside by lightning.

Tangible God
Maybe he never really got a good opening chance to blast them.

Maybe he knew they'd have learned from last time and deflected it.

Captain REX
Ush and Zink summed it up, I have nothing to add. stick out tongue

NoFate007
Lucas didn't write it in there, that's why.
