Quasar vs Captain Marvel (pho)

no one is talking about Quasar so who wins

Depends which version of Genis. (well actually it really doesnt, but still....)

If it's current Genis, Genis wins.

If it's insane Genis, Genis wins.

If it's normal red-shirt Genis, it's a close fight, but Genis eventually wins.

If it's Legacy, it's a close fight, but Quasar eventually wins.

gotta go with quasar who is underrated like no other.i'm just not sold on genis just yet.

Keep them coming when ever I put Quasar vs Someone no one gets into a debate lol

Yeah, Quasar is actually pretty damn powerful. I'd agree with arman though, except i think it'd be even with Red-shirt Genis. Maybe with a slight edge to Quasar...

Here, add this to the powers Quasar already has,



They both can halt the flow of cosmic energy. Once in awhile Genis looks like he runs outta juice, where Quasar has a never ending supply. Quasar can practically use his will to do anything with his Quantum Bands and his Starbrand Powers.

Close fight, but I'll give it to experience and say Quasar 5.5 out of 10.

the current one would absolutely MURDER Quasar. No contest. Quasar is like Thor-level, Genis while he was in his insane version stalemated KING THOR, and this current version has been stated to be the most powerful version of Genis, even moreso than his insane version, so think of it like this:

Current Genis > Insane Genis = King Thor > Thor = Quasar

I saw the fight , didn't look like a stalemate.

Heck if we count those as stalemate than Thing has stalemated Galactus.

yea, i didnt start that rumor nor did i ever back it up. Sure, im a die-hard Genis fan, but i wont make up stuff to prove a point. For now, there's no evidence as to who was more powerful b/w King Thor & Genis, so i think it should be considered a stalemate until they fight again someday. So i say he stalemated King Thor, who is the upgraded version of the guy who Quasar is on par with, Classic Thor.

he only needed to recharge when he was using the Nega Bands with his red costume, when he became insane and then later in his white costume for the Odyssey story arc he didnt ever need to recharge anymore he even stated it do be true, plus he doesnt use em any more, now his powers are all his, they dont come from anything but him anymore, no more accessories such as the nega bands.

Current Genis is extremely powerful, but then so is Quasar. Quasar has some very mean feats behind him. I think Genis would come out the winner, but Quasar would give him one hell of a fight.

The bottom line is Genis and Quasar have mostly the same powers. The difference is Quasar has a ton more experience. Energy based opponents are his specialty.

alright fine, u proved ur point that i cant use the Insane Genis/King Thor fight as a valid reason, but i just came up wit another solution. Photon could just teleport the quantum bands right off his arms if he wanted to. Then wut would Quasar do?

I wanna see someone now come up wit a BS explanation y they think he couldnt do this.

Quasar can also teleport also how about he teleport Genis head into another dimension.

Quasar can do similar stuff and like Genis.

Infact it been said that Photon now is mostly Energy meaning he gets absorbed by the best Absorber in marvel.

yea he's an idiot then that's absolutely bullshit! and not to brag, but i think im more of an expert on Genis than anyone else on these forums that ive seen, i have every single one of his solo issues from the 1999 and 2003 series' and i have all the New T-Bolts issues, and i have the Avengers Forever series which explained Genis' origin. Plus i have most of his guest appearances. Im the masta' on Genis. Trust me.

And back to the topic, Quasar CANNOT teleport. Photon CAN. Photon would just teleport the Q-Bands off Quasar. Then it's over.

You have never seen Quasar teleport? he does it all the time.

As for the energy part? Genis attacks are made of energy he can absorb at least that.

A more fair match would be Quasar vs Rookie Genis (the one wit the red shirt). Now THAT would be something i'd like to see. But the current version of Genis, who is now called Photon, is just SCARY powerful.

That’s the thing you are talking about SCARY powerful

So is Quasar.

Quasar energy can be divert the energy way, and Quasar can absorb Genis's attacks.

I think this would be good battled.

until someone proves that Photon is above Thor level

well Cap said Sentry is more powerful than Thor if i remember correctly, and Photon beat Sentry. so there's ur evidence. Trust me, Photon would whup him. He's got everything Quasar does, plus more, and everything he's got the same of is amped to scary levels.

Also, dosen't curent Genis not have cosimc awareness beacuse it was driveing him insane? That's another point in Quasar's favor.

Finaly, where did MArvel and King Thor fight again? I have every issue of Thor since before he got the odinforce, I and I can't rember it.

They never really fought. Thor hit Genis, Genis hit Thor. That was it. It was interrupted after that.

Still wondering what comic it was in.

Genis and King Thor fought in a CM issue. Captain Marvel (2003) #7-8 to be exact.

But no, Genis still has his cosmic awareness, that's why his powers changed so much: cuz he mastered his cosmic awareness.

His origonal name was Cap. Marvel, but they changed it for all sorts of silly reasons.

umm... no, the Q-bands can't be removed from Quasar that way... or else Eon would have simply removed them from Marvel Boy and given them to Captain Mar-vell, the protector of the universe back then

Currently, Genis has fought Sentry into a stalemate/victory, Sentry was the one in pain at the end of the fight.
Genis after his madness period has achieved mastery over his powers, he's really herald level now.

I doubt he can beat a NOT HOLDING BACK sentry !!!

If u really wanna know everything about Genis u gotta buy both his solo series and Avengers forever and New Thunderbolts.

-Avengers Forever explains how he was born and his origins.
-Captain Marvel (1999-2001) was Genis first getting used to coping with the Cosmic Awareness, Rick Jones being bonded with him, and his overall powers.
-Captain Marvel (2002-2004) was about Genis going and eventually becoming totally insane (therefore not holding back anymore and becoming more powerful) because he could not control his cosmic awareness, Then he regained his senses and became even more powerful yet again and fought the Magus in the last story arc called Odyssey.
-New Thunderbolts is just about Genis trying to cope with being a hero and trying as hard as he can to master his cosmic awareness without going insane again. In his current form of being Photon, i think he has done just that, mastered the cosmic awareness.

It all depends on which version of Genis we're using to decide if he is more powerful than the Surfer. Like i said, in each stage, he got more powerful than the last, but if i had to say, i'd say original Genis from his first series who wore the red shirt is just about on par with the Surfer, while all the other versions are more powerful than the Surfer.

Current Genis > Odyssey Genis > Insane Genis >= Silver Surfer >= Original Genis

Sentry is still a mystery, but they were both holding back in their fight, and while holding back, (we must assume they were holding back the same amount), Photon got the better of Sentry. Therefore until proven otherwise Photon IS more powerful than Sentry. Sentry is overrated anyways, Bendis just said he was Marvel's most powerful hero to hype it up to get people to buy the NEw Avengers, nothing more. I mean, if he's really the most powerful hero, can he beat guys like Adam Warlock or Doctor Strange? Maybe he can, maybe not. But RUNE KING THOR? Sentry would die horribly every time.

And the reason he changed his name from Captain Marvel ws because Marvel and DC were having problems with both companies using that name and since DC's Captain Marvel (Shazam) was the original, they told Quesada he had to change Genis' name to something else, so he called him Photon.

Beating someone in battle doesnt necessarily make you greater than them. If that was the case one could argue that Sidermans greater than both Juggernaut and Firelord.

Genis was mostly just shunting Sentrys power away therefore he was neutralising the effects of the attacks, not matching him head on power for power.

But you said greater than. Thats not exactly true. Look how powerful Molecule man is but how useless he is or at least was with his powers. Captain America could probably take out Franklin Richards because of his lack of experience and child mentality. Does that mean CA's greater than Franklin? No it does not.

Genis shunted away Sentrys power. He didnt tackle it head on. He stalemated him. The fact that he had to do that shows you how powerful Sentry is when you consider the enemies Genis has gone up against. So id say that Sentry is definitely greater than Genis stats wise but in terms of who would win in a fight currently id give the edge to Genis.

I think you're either seriously underating Surfer, or overating Genis here. Granted, i haven't read the latest CM series, i have seen a fair few scans and i haven't seen anything that puts him above Surfer. On par maybe. Red Shirt Genis never had anything on Surfer.

Must? There's no reason at all to believe they're both holding back the same amount. For all we know, Senrty could be only holding back a tiny bit, while Genis could be holding back heaps. Or vice versa. We'll never know unless they go all out against each other.
