Who gets farthest? Who stops soonest?

Contestants:

a) Superman, b) Silver Surfer, c) Thor, d) World War Hulk

Rules; No rest between rounds. Attacks are not ordered by level of power. Characters cannot use shields, but they can amp their durability, if they have been shown to be able to do so. There is one minute between rounds, so any healing factors can come into play.

If character is KO'ed, his unconscious body advances. The only way to stop, is by death.

Each character takes each attack exactly as the "hero" on each page. i.e., in 2nd round, they'd get hit by Sentry first, then the combined U-foes blast. Whatever is posted onpanel.

Those two planets are supposed to be galaxy size and the force required to fuse two objects together is supposed greater than just two planets colliding.

The mythbusters tried to fuse two 18 wheelers a la Matrix movie style, but the force required to fuse metal is greater than the force you can get from a simple head on collision. So they could not do it. the 18 wheelers were running at 60mph IIRC

Then IIRC they tried fusion at the speed of sound, ONE object traveling at the speed of sound vs a stationary object, needless to say the object moving at the speed of sound obliterated the stationary one.

In order for them to fuse metal together by collision they needed explosives. With explosives providing the pushing force behind the metal, they were able to achieve metal fusion

So to apparently to fuse two solid objects together you need more than just collision force.

Galaxy sized planets... not in DOTNG.

Either way, Galactus is the only one capable of killing anyone in this thread. That depends on how high you view Thanos though. Possibly Thanos could kill them too with that blast... but I'm not sure that would fly.

Actually the way it usually works is though stuff in the Fourth World might be bigger, anyone traveling there from the normal universe gets their size increased as well, so compared to Superman's size there they were still just planet-sized. Still it's multi-planet level+

A city sized crater made a sizable flare up on the planet. They weren't galaxy sized in that series, or if we attribute the boom tube effect, they were, but it didn't matter in the least.

Was that from Soulfire DS?

Apokolips and New Gensis aren't always treated as Galactic sized, pretty sure travel has been made there without boom tubes in the past.

That being said, it's irrelevant if they were that large in DoNG, relative to Superman they were the size of regular planets like Earth.

Do you have anything other than your speculation about how large a planet is according to a writer? We have an actual comparison between earth and apokolips and unless you have a scan to contradict it, its just a laughably bad job at downplaying a feat. Just to remind you, the comparison was made while the heroes were ON apokolips via boom tube.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. When individuals travel to Apokolips/New Gensises via boom tubes they scale up, which is why to them they are relatively similar to Earth in size and the New Gods don't tower over them. That was why Bieb pointed out what he did.

It's an impressive feat, I don't understand why you have to make it out to be more than it is.

I understand perfectly what you and bieb are trying to do here. So IYO when Dr. Fate, power girl and others went to apokolips via boom tube and narration told us about the size of apokolips compared to earth in their SCALED UP form, its wrong and your speculation is right, amirite or amirite? What you're not understanding here is that the relative size of apokolips while people of earth were in their SCALED UP form is already determined in that scan and its just pure conjucture at this point to suggest otherwise via flairs(lol) or anything else.

I have no problem with people using old scans. What I have a problem with is using a really ****ing old scan to detail how big something is when nothing supports it in the future... at all (when everything is boom tubed to size), or even the arc in question besides that throwaway line.

Using scans from the comic in question is shit when 10 miles was seen as sizable damage to the planet. And the blast I showed reached out possible 10 more miles judging from Superman's stance? Meh.

Darkseid's big plan in that arc was to transport Apokalips into the universe which was only stated to destroy the Earth:

I really don't get why you're so set against Superman surviving against two galaxy (?) sized objects colliding (I assume you're arguing galaxy sized since that's what caused your latest outburst to come to light anyway). Two planet sized objects doing this is more than most characters get and is very impressive as well.

You know the full extent of the damage of that blast wasn't shown in the scans you posted. They could have been on the very edge of it.

Still this is planetary level + especially because of the force required to FUSE them.

I don't think any of the heroes will survive this sm feats (maybe surfer) but based on the feats shown I do think Sm will survive the Gauntlet.

Superman yes. I doubt the Surfer does. I think Thor probably has better physical durability than the Surfer, but I doubt either of them clear it.

I'll add though, while I think Superman has far better durability than Thor, if Thor wasn't standing there and taking these attacks, he could absorb many of them with the hammer, or use his shields.

I was going to respond but then I read Bieb's reply.

Anyone who's read DC for the last few decades should know by now that Apokolips and New Genesis have been treated as more or less on par with other planetary bodies, relatively speaking.

Does anyone remember when the JLI traveled to Apokolips without boom tubes? Were they smaller than the New Gods or was that one of the instances when the New Gods and their planet was similar in size to Humans/Earth?

I know You are not Carver, My original post was directed to Carver, I assume He knew about the boom tubes and how it changes your size.

I don't know if the rest of the post is directed to me.

But I'm sure You agree this planets are big compared to us, where Earth is the size of a marble.

As far as I know most people in here know a lot about context, but from now on I think is better just to repeat every single detail in a feat. So there are no misunderstandings.
