calling it now, it will be the best shooter of 2011, MW3 will obviously place a close second, but we all know the true beauty of a PS3 developed exclusive this will be the one to watch.

Every Killzone that's come out has been called that. I remember Killzone 1 coming out and everyone calling it "The Halo killer" and "The Metroid killer". Than two came out. "This is the Call of Duty killer. This is the Halo killer."

No Killzone has ever come close to any of those franchises in popularity or critics review. What would make you think that this one will be any different? Looking at the gameplay in those videos, it looks even more generic than CoD.

Sales arnt the indicator, and i know it wont outsell CoD or have anywhere near the hype, but KZ2 was better than MW2, so says me. So says IGN so says Gamespot , so says game reactor

"CoD killer" doesn't exist right now, but better games DO, this will be yet another one.

What is the indicator then? Every game can be better than another if you look at it from a certain perspective.

As for this, well, I lol @ the notion that this would be "better" than CoD, since it's the same damn game with a different skin.

What about this game that's been shown so far leads you to believe it's "better" than any of the twitchy FPS's out right now?

Killzone 2 was an excellent shooter that did as good a job as any shooter at establishing a very strong and intense atmosphere, save Half Life 2 or Bioshock. The world felt like a world, and not just levels spawned as a place to shoot people.

I can't wait for Killzone 3, and have little doubt that the single player will be better than COD or what have you. Killzone 2's was miles ahead. Multiplayer I never really got into very much, but it was fun and unique from what I played mostly because it wasn't a twitch based shooter, it was more Gears of War-like than COD-like.

Watching the videos... had to keep reminding myself that I'm not watching a CoD game with brightness turned down.

Agreed.

Killzone 2 is three times better than MW2. **** the multiplayer is still better than Black Ops.

All COD has is the casual gamers that think they are good because they can go positive in an arcade FPS. I also think the reason its so successful is because they haven't changed any of the core mechanics and thus people who have played one can just grab any cod and feel at home. If they were to change the meta game just a little they would suffer with all the people that just don't stand change.

Thats why you play COD on Hardcore if you want a challenge.
