For those of you who don't know me, I'm one of the Mods over in the comics section. The recent Duel Forum has got me into sigs a lot more. I'm hardly a pro, but I'm improving in a hurry.

I'll post my older stuff first (which was all done in Corel Photo House) then newer stuff (which is done with GIMP Version 2.2.10).

A basic sig I made for Raz (never used though).

Iceman...a recurring theme with the Photo House ones is that they're cool, but just a bit blurry or grainy.

My take on "Cosmic Spidey"

Deadpool...a variation on the earlier Raz one.

My pride and joy from Photo House...decent looking, not blurry, and under the file size limit.

Silver Surfer

The Snoopy collection. Most of these I've never used, but I'm a huge Snoopy fan.

I stole some of the renders from other peoples' Sig Duels. Most were random experiments that never made it into sigs, but a few turned out decent.

Duel #1 Loss to DarkWizard. Coloring is a bit bland, but I'm proud of the pheonix.

Duel #2 No verdict yet (against Cyber Ninja) but I like my chances . My entry was actually an earlier version of this (without the disco ball) and I figured out the ball trick right after I submitted it.

I'm improving in a hurry with GIMP and hope to add a bunch to this thread soon.

But most of my Spidey suff has come from outside help (DW mainly...C-Master also made me an awesome Midnighter sig a while back)

#22 Link....looking as sexy as ever.

The sig tourney going on right now (and the fear of facing TOH in the first round) has gotten me to improve in a hurry. I think the last few sigs I've done display that improvement sharply compared to anything on page 1.

#23 ...and one with Link scaled down so that he's only in the middle. I'm not sure which one of the two I like better. Probably this one, but they're both cool as far as I'm concerned

I have a bunch of Link images, and some rather ambitious ideas, so this will probably be the first of many Link/Zelda/etc. sigs.

Crap, these are good... Now if Juggernaut's black armor didn't look so gosh darn ritarded in X Men Legends... There are possiblities with Juggs and black armor. He could be a freaking ninja. But big and invulnerable.

Awesome stuff though. The Tick still rules.

The first of two Drizzt Do'Urden sigs for Dizzle. I'm not going to be doing too many requests, but occasionally for people I know and respect on the forums depending on how much time I have.

The sig looks good on you Dizzle...you had had that old one far too long. The damn quote he wants me to use is forever long, so making the other one look good is more than a challenge, but I have enough Drizzt images and backgrounds that I'm sure I'll make something work...

...I managed to "hide" Drizzt's moor cat Guenwyvar in this one three times. Once by the end of the quote, once to the right of the ribcage (top right) and once between Drizzt's right blade and his leg.

Andre the Giant is hidden in the Unreal symbol as an homage to his line ""I am the brute squad" from the movie The Princess Bride. 80KB, nowhere near KMC limits...but the higher limits on duels are good for experimenting and having fun without worrying about file sizes.

DW's name is in my duel entry, but I left it out of this one...

I'm just changing my policy to "no requests"...I'll ask members I know and respect if I think they might like a sig every now and then...but no outside requests. I'd love to be open to requests, but I have the feeling I'd get burnt out in a hurry. That, and I'm a greedy bastard (yes, all of them for myself precious...)

The Spidey one? Thanks. It barely took me any time compared to normal, but it turned out sweet. The black/white swirls seem to culminate right within him and perfectly show the split between the Spidey and Venom ideas at work. And the render fits perfectly with the colors, text, and everything...and I didn't even plan it.

I just got lucky I guess...most 5-minute forays into gimp don't turn out nearly as well for me, and the one right before it took about an hour and was my worst in a while. lol.

This one, however, took a bit longer. Most recent duel (vs. Law).

This one was a whim that took me a couple minutes....the image just seemed amusing enough to turn into a sig. I've been REALLY lazy though about making avys all the time....I never feel compelled to make something that matches. Meh.

I just got a (working) scanner. And I also downloaded Dogwaffle (thanks to Lana for posting the link in the resources thread) for some possible painting-style sigs. Between the two of those and my current prowess in GIMP, I'm hoping to start being more creative with my sigs. Less output maybe, but more quality. Animation is still a cruel mistress, but I do what I can.

I've also started making logos and such for various projects in classes that I have. And I might even be making some logos for my older brother's fledgeling (sic?) company soon....a 21st century style arcade, complete with linked console systems, an "exercise room" (think DDR-style stuff) and a full array of games for any platform. He's not sure if he'll actually do it (still working out business models at this point) but if I can make him logos, more sweetness points for me.

In any case, sig-making has opened up to more opportunities for me, and I'll doubtless find others. My thanks to Lana for everything she does with these forums, and to DW for getting good so fast in gimp that I was inspired to try it.

An early foray into Dogwaffle...I'm aware that my sigs might get slightly worse before they get better, but I'm beginning to see that Dogwaffle might be great for backgrounds (but little else...I still did the render and text in Gimp).

The bush-tree thing on the right is fun...the rest is basically just experimentation. And the text is still sub-par (one of my weaknesses as a sig-maker)...working on it though.

Tee-hee! Dogwaffle's fun. So much for less output.

Lana will enjoy this one...Dogwaffle forces me to get in touch with my feminine sig-making attributes. I'm happy I was able to get the "sitting by the waterside" look for the one fairy.

The setting is partially inspired by Bob Ross...the afro-ed nice-guy painter that pretty much only does landscapes and nature and such. He's dead now but PBS still plays him in the afternoons.

Gotta start adding borders to my sigs. I realized recently nearly all of the good sig-makers have borders on most of their stuff. I'm improving slowly at text (the glowing text in my recent sig is an example) and borders are my next area of concern.

A "Thief 3: Deadly Shadows" Sig. The Thief games rocked! I was going to do more with it, but it was starting to get kinda cluttered anyway, and I wanted to use it here on KMC so I had to curtail a few things. Still, I like it...I think it turned out wicked nice.

And yes, superior competition helps in almost anything if you keep at it. Most of my best work is in sigs I've made for duels. Now I don't have as much license to suck though () since everyone thinks I'm getting better.

Yeah, forgot to mention that Blair was the one who provided the Tick pic I used in the Cherry Coke sig. I tried using it as the thumb-wrestling thing, but I couldn't get it to look anywhere near good. But thanks.

Thanks. I "discovered" the background by accident and loved it, and basically tacked the pic on as an excuse to use it as a sig. It works well enough with it, but the sig is meant to be as much about the bckground as the pic. I was thinking it would look cooler with a LOTR render or something similarly medieval-esque and epic, but I didn't have anything like that saved and didn't feel like looking for it. The megaman one seemed to fit the best among the images I have on my cpu.

Haven't been making many sigs lately...but this is for my brother's possible business (Flynn's II is one of the names he's batting around). It's like a 21st-century arcade, with a bunch of innovative designs and such. I stayed with roughly 450x150 because I'm comfortable with it, and he just wants some logo ideas and such. It's basically a rough-draft, but I like how it turned out.

Not a sig....a new logo for my brother's business. He's actually just presenting the idea to people at this stage, it's not a certainty that it'll happen at all. But this is the title page on his Powerpoint presentation right now. I'll be tweaking it a bit, but the majority is here. Mostly just lots of game renders....though I touched up a few of them, and I'm working on a decent looking grid-effect to use in the background. ...could probably use a bigger border too.

8-9 now at dueling. I might just retire and save what dignity I have by making my own and being happy with them. But I'll be opening for requests in a few weeks...as soon as school's out, or shortly thereafter.

Anyway, not a sig, but a possible cover for a high school yearbook. I have a class that deals with advising student publications (like yearbooks) and we were asked to come up with a theme. The red/blue color scheme and the idea of "Touching All..." would run throughout the yearbook.

I don't know what the exact dimensions will be, so I might have to tweak it some, and the footprints might need a bit of work, but here it is...

My thanks (I think.. ), and I like the Spidey reference, but I still have a losing record (or even if I win that one). So I'm not sure if it's a testament to my mediocrity or just the magnificence of the sigmakers on these forums. Probably some of both.

I'm going to start making a sig out of the cover of every Amazing Spider-Man issue I get. And it will always be current, from the most recent one. I think it'll be fun....and so that's my next endeavor besides opening up to requests in a few weeks.

How I got a purple color scheme for anything involving Spidey is beyond me...this one just got away from me in a hurry and never really turned out like I wanted (cover isn't an action shot from 531 so it was hard). I tried incorporating pics of Tony and Cap that were on the cover too, but for some reason it either looked like Tony was missing an arm or that he was much too interested in Peter.

I might just try again...it's not a total loss, but I can do better.

I'll practice on some back issues too, just for fun...since it'll be a whole other month before I get a new one (this one just came today).

In the meantime....the first in the ongoing experiment.

...kinda like the first better. It's like Spidey's watching a montage of his past fights. They're both kinda big right now (circa 70KB) but I'll be bringing them down soon.

Thanks guys....and yeah, I'm excited about the idea. It's an excuse to make lots of hot SM sigs, so that's always a good thing.

Imitating Darkcrawler's signature style. Not quite as good as his best ones, but close enough that I'm happy (especially since it was a new sig style for me).

Great sigs, no doubt about that one. The newest one is good, especially when keeping in mind that you're trying a new style. Your previous Spider-man avatar is still my favourite. Hopefully you're not stopping sigmaking!

We'll see. Haven't decided yet. I'll probably just turn in some sig that I make anyway during the next few weeks (one of the ongoing Spidey series or something). But I won't be turning it in until close to the end. Finals are coming up, so school has been kicking my ass, and will continue to do so for about another week.
