Her entire organic carbon-based body was transformed by Galactus to accomodate the nuclear energies that course through her. These enegies made her the humanoid equivalent of a miniature sun. Projected from any point on her body by mental command, Nova's energies encompassed the entire electromagnetic spectrum possessed by a star: heat, light, gravity, radio waves and charged particles. The maximum amount of heat she could produce appears to have been 900,000 degrees Fahenheit. The maximum amount of light she could produce is in excess of (2 x 10)25 candelea. With a minor manifestation of her powers of her stellar powers, she could burn through any Earthly substance (with the exception of adamantium). She could project a stream of fire resembling a solar flare for a distance of up to several hundred miles. Nova could control the path of her cosmic fire to such an extent that she can project a sustained ring of flame at a fixed distance around any object. The exact means by which Nova generates her cosmic energy is unknown.
By utilizing her power uni-directionaly Nova could fly at nearly light speed through interstellar space.(Flying at such speeds near planetary bodies could cause devastating gravitational disturbances among the planets.) Nova could transverse hyper space with no danger to herself. She could make use of the gravitational fields of stars to help break her speeds.
As a consequence of her cosmic form and metabolism, Nova was far stronger and more durable than an normal human being. Although she possessed a physical body, she was impervious to most forms of physical harm. Her body automatically incinerated any projectile that came within her fiery corona. She was immune to aging, disease, and muscle fatigue. She did not need to breath air any longer, and thus could exist indefinately in the hard vacuum of space. Nova's major limatation was still organic in function and she still needed sleep to satisfy her human instincts.
