Mario has the experience + gadgets. I think it's a close one, but Mario takes it.

Sonic would definetly win. He uses chaos control, and with his super speed he puts mario in a valcano somwhere. Duh!

Sonic would definitely win. In terms of an actual good game, definitely Mario all the way, but the poor italian plumber would get spanked in a fight with the blue blur. Unless Mario can somehow gain super-plumber speed and bounce on Sonic's head, Sonic has this one in the bag.
