Ok I don't usually like drum & bass, at all, but a friend of mine bought me a copy of Hold Your Color by Pendulum a little while ago, telling me I had to listen to it. While I was sceptical at first, I have to say it's grown on me a helluva lot over the last week. I'm not sure how they compare to other DnB groups, but they are really dark and the quieter, more synthy parts pack even more of a punch than thumping percussion sections, and the mixing up of genre styles and live instruments is great.

Through The Loop is my favorite song at the moment, with a really creepy sample that I think is from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

Any fans?

Someone I speak to is a big fan. Whilst I didn't like it, it didn't seem like it was what people would call drum and bass, it seemed like that type of vein, but not specifically that. I also heard Through the Loop, I couldn't quite put my finger on what the sample was though.

I always thought that "Pendulum" would be a good name for a band or song or something, though.

its not bad, i love the intro to "slam" ( is that the correct name?), nice and heavy, its got aspects of nu-metal, especially in the new single.

Deathblow
Nu metal? I don't think so. Hard industrial, maybe.

I love the whole first part of Plastic World, with the sax and everything. Shame the core of the song is a (comparatively) dull drum loop.
