Pre-HoM Quicksilver (not that Son of M garbage)

Midnighter can play a fight scene a million times in his head before the first punch is thrown.... but Quicksilver can throw hundreds of punches in the time it takes a normal man to throw one

Can Quicksilver's speed give him the edge he needs to beat one of the most dangerous men in comicdom?

Current Quicksilver is a LOT faster than his classic version.

MN'er owns classic. Current, I'm not so sure. It's possible only because Pietro doesn't really have durability to speak of. One hit to throw him off would probably be all MN'er needs (Hell, Spidey knocked him out once just by sticking his arm out). But he might just not be fast enough....I don't really know enough to say for sure.

Damn, this is tricky... Partly because it's hard to put numbers and such on Midnighter's speed, but I'll have a go at a logical sequence.

I see Slade and Midnighter as almost equal in pretty much everything physical, speed included. (Slade probably takes an edge, but their feats are fairly comparable) Slade has tagged Flashes on several occasions, partly because of his reactions, but partly also because of his skill and battle strategy. Now, whatever edge Slade may posess in speed, MNer makes up for with his unbeatable tactics, thanks to his powers. Now, if limited speed and a lot of skill can hit someone who normally operates at high end mach speeds (I'm talking Bart, as most cry PIS at the sight of Wally impaled on a sword) someone who works somewhere between mach 5 and 10 shouldn't be impossibly challenging. As Digi said, one strike would do it. I can see Midnighter taking 6 or 7/10.

I'm racking my brain to remember if he took on anyone with blatant superspeed... I think the closest would be the werewolf guy he killed in v2... I dunno, this is tougher than it first seems. I mean, his reaction times and speeds in short bursts are jsut sick. But I don't know if he could tack an object consistently moving at Quicksilver's speeds. My gut says he can, but if Quicksilver uses hit-and-run tactics, staying out of 'nighter's line of sight, he stands a chance. If he just runs up at Midnigher in a straight line, he's FUBAR.

Even with Midnighter's strength speed and tactical enhancements he still moves in slow motion to Quicksilver:

......but with the weapons he normally carries, MN should only need one or two hits to KO QS... his healing abilities should keep him in the fight longer than most would last against QS

I think that with Quicksilver's insane speed and stamina he will be able to take out Midnighter, like Scoobless put it. No matter how fast MN tries to react, he will appear motionless to QS (yes, even classic QS). It's not even that QS is just fast, he also has insane reflexes and an even faster thought process. Everything that the Midnighter can do, QS can do faster. I don't see how MN could do it.

So, because of that, I give this to Quicksilver 9/10 (Just in case some weird plot device takes place).

Really, unless Midnighter has some crazy speed, I see no way he could react before Quicksilver takes his head off. However, since I have no idea what Midnighter's speed/durability is like, I'm going by the assumption that he's around Slade level.

To be fair, Impetus probably isn't as fast as QS, but this isn't out of the realm of possibility. If he can outrun Swift, he's easily over 1000 mph, since she can reach several hundreds of mph without trouble.

lol. That's from Authority Prime, liked it, thought there'd be more injuries/deaths though. Little annoyed Jack didn't get a good showing (but it was in the desert)

Yeah, it wasn't bad. I thought it was a nice holdover between the Revolution arc (and the failed Morrison run) and the upcoming post-Armageddon stuff, which is their next "big" problem.
