Shinzinki's School of Martial Arts

As you can tell from the title, this is a school where students from all over Japan, come to learn from wise shishous (Or teachers if you are unfamiliar with the definition). Each student is placed into an elemental group. From there, you are given a zodiac gaurdian from a vicious test. If the guardian chooses you, you pass. If the guardian does not, you fail. With me so far? Good.

Within the school are the normal dances, classes, tests, and tournaments. You must stand on your own feet to get through this school. Your guardians have minds of their own, and they will not tolerate failure. Prove yourself in katana duels, go into hand-to-hand combat, increase your senses in fatal tests, and push yourself to your limits and beyond. This is the ultimate challenge. Will you be ready?

I am NOT making an OOC thread, merely for the fact that it takes up room in the unhosted roleplay... thingy. So, all OOC here should either A. Be in PM, or B. stated in either font such as: this or in ((_)). K? Ok! Here is the form I would like you to fill out. If you don't use this form, I can tell you right off you wont get your guardian and your character will get squishied XD

Rules
mwahahaha! Yes there are rules here. They're not hard to follow so just stick by them and look at them from time to time.

1 - Dear God no one-liners. I seriously can't stand it when someone posts a huge, beautiful piece of work to get a response like: "walks down hall and says 'hi'", yeah, not gonna fly. 3 sentences minimum! Please!

2 - Zodiac guardians are as follows: boar, dog, monkey, rooster, sheep, horse, snake, dragon, rabbit, tiger, cow, and the rat. There can only be 2 of the same guardians for the characters in this RP. If one player has one, and another player has the other, the third person is out of luck. But there are a lot of them, 12 to be exact, which makes 24. That should be enough. If not, I'll up the quantity to 3 and get 36. But for now 2!! And remember, you have to PASS to get one, and they're the ones who test you.

3 - DO NOT CLOUD UP THIS THREAD WITH OOC!! I swear to God, if I see anyone fighting in here, I will immediately contact Ush and shut the whole thing down. Understand me? Good.

4 - This is in JAPAN!!! That means, no Starwars in here, no Lord of the Rings, no Scary movie, nothing! If I see any jedi, mummy, zombie, vampire, witch, wizard... bleh! in here I will give you a warning. If it continues, this thread goes poof. Don't ruin it for everybody just because you think you can break the RP into your own little game. It doesn't work that way. Sorry, but that's life.

With me so far? Great. Once we have at least 5 characters (And I'm making mine tomorrow), we'll get started with the RP. So, for now, you just have to fill out the form and wait for others to join. Yeah, just remembered, when you get your guardian... IF you get your guardian, you are placed into the elemental groups. There's Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Simple, no? It's just like a grade, like 5th, 6th, 7th... so on. If the guardians fail you, you basically don't get one and have to start over with your training. Sorry about missing that. ^^; My bad.

One question I have is what is the time period for this RP? During some parts of Japanese history the entire country was cut off from most all Foriegn people. (execpt for one Dutch and Chinese merchant ship a year.)
Most of the Schools that taught the various arts sprang forth from 1600-1868, as there were no wars and the samurai needed to keep their prowess honed in case of battle. The time period will heavily effect my character's profile.

((Katanas are Japanese swords/blades. They are slightly shorted than a European longsword, but due to their craftmanship are sharper and stronger.

((snipper, I believe what Angel is trying to say is that you must elaborate upon your character profile. Lookat your character and then look at someone like Thunder's or WC's. Compared to theirs, yours is fairly empty. Angel is trying to evaluate your RPing ablities through the character creation process))

Likes: Natsumi is rather fond of the moon. She could stare at it for hours upon hours. She also loves cool summer nights and her long walks. She's alway very attached to animals and nature, using what God set upon the land to inspire her and raise her energy as much as she can.

Dislikes: Natsumi hates her past. She will not discuss it with anyone she doesn't trust. However, being as mysterious as her recollections seem, she will share them with a select few individuals. Natsumi also hates killing for your own pleasure. She will slaughter anyone who dares harm what she holds dear, for in her eyes, her reason to kill is for those who haven't the strength.

Strengths: Using her eyes to read people's emotions. As true with everyone, your thoughts are echoed through those optics. She can see a flicker of hate, a softness of pity, and a burning rage of attack. She can also study your figure. She knows when your muscles tense, and can use your eyes to guide her to a safe place where her enemies miss her entirely. Also, boiling up her rage of the past, she can unleash a great amount of fury upon anyone who dares insult what happened to her years ago. She will definately kill anyone who mocks those she used to love and cherish.

Weakness: Her past mainly. She is very, very, very vulnerable when you get ahold of that one secret. She's also easy to bring to tears and gets her feelings hurt often. Reading people's emotions, also leads her in wrongful paths. She ends up walking down dark trails that she never meant to encounter. It can be rather dangerous for Natsumi, but she'll overcome her pain with great pride and strength.

Fears: Losing someone very close and dear to her. She's also terrified of fire. The flames that flicker back and forth can immediately set her into a horrified trance. She's also rather frightened of swords, the main reason why she uses a fan. She will use a katana when the situation demands it. It's highly unlikely of course. Her fan suits her just fine.

Other: Her past will be revealed in the RP, I can guarentee it. Also, she has an addiction to the rice wine drink, sake, after having it so many times with her old shishou. She also lingers upon her past, causing her into depressive states that often end in her rage taking an entire grip upon her body. Thus sending her into foolish dangers.

It takes a jagged twist along her hip, then races down her leg to end at the back of her knee. A great scar to remind her of her horrifying experiences.

Disabilities: The scar upon her chest was caused by a large sword (obviously...) that stabbed deeply into her breast cavity. It locked upon her lungs, now giving her great troubles breathing. She can't fight for long, and has a very low stamina due to her habit of coughing up blood whenever she becomes too strained to continue. Also, the tattoos upon her body give off a stinging. This comes randomly, and affects her fighting a great deal by draining her valuable strength into nothingness.


Weapon: Her fluid-like body. Using her muscles to swiftly dodge any attack, her hardened knuckles, heel, and occasional head, can be greatly disasterous to her enemies. Her off-hand weapon is a fan. The small paper object can create great gusts of wind through her spiritual energy, brought out by her previous shishou. It also can turn into a deadly blade. The paper can cut major arteries, veins, and slice your esophagus to pieces. One must be greatly cautious with Natsumi's skills, harmless as they seem.

Ok, Vathu, you need a disability for your character. Even if you have an upload, you still have to give him/her a weakness (and by the way, I know it's a him, i'm just speaking as if you were to create a female character as well)

A disablitiy can be anything that affects your ability to fight in a negative way. You can be a perv that's disarmed by the beauty of a female/male, it can be a fear of something(fire, water, blood, girls/guys), a physical disability (missing arm, poor vision, scar causes pain), or it can be psychological 9certain situations trigger flashbacks which distract you from the fight).
