There is no such thing as Pre/Post Crisis Darkseid. Darkseid is as powerful now as he was in past showing. Darkseid has already owned SS, he just erases Namor out of existance, teleports Hulk into a blackhole, and while Strange poses the most immediate threat, he takes care of him too.

Let's say for a second, that Darkseid only gets beat by Superman because Superman knows him so well by now.
Coming on the scene, brand new, against a team that isn't very familiar with him, I think he would at least give them a good fight.

What is that? He killed Supergirl? Surfer didn't die like that when he was SHOT IN THE BACK... Surfer and Strange will take him. The others are just meat shields.

Even though Kirby himself has said Darkseid and Galactus are equal, imo, Darkseid is just a notch, a small notch, below Galactus(not starving, but not fully powered either).

In theory, if he really did intend to target Supergirl, his OB would have still gotten to her and killed her. In theory, if he did target Superman, his beams would have gone around Supergirl and hit Supes directly. In theory, he can..............

The two characters fluctuate too much to really determine that, they both have low power and high power moments both stated on panel.

Darkseid at the height of his power has shown he's higher than both lords of chaos and order and promethian giants.

Then you take a moment to consider that Galactus and Eternity are siblings.

Eternity and Lord of Order Kismet are on panel the respective same character in opposite universes.

The Celestials also have a DC Equivilent, the Promethian Giants or Millenium Giants, who Darkseid have proven mightier than at the height of his power.

You can stop it with heat vision? Then either Surfer or Dr. Strange could stop it with considerable ease.

Even if they do win, Darseid will just appear in another comic and say it was an avatar, to avoid the embarassment of getting his ass handed to him by a silver guy and somebody saying "hoary hosts of Hoggath"

Jun, i always equated the Lords of Order and Chaos with the Marvel Lord Order, Master Chaos who watched the InBetweener. And they are ranked below Eternity, though not by much.

The classic defenders could defeat darkseid if strange was willing to take things as far as he could such as summoning Mephisto and Blackheart to help with the fight, but strange wouldnt do that because the cost would be too high...however I think conventional strange and ss could definatly give darkseid a match...in order for Namor and Hulk to be a factor, strange would have to somehow mask their presence so they could perhaps do some kind of sucker attack on darkseid then surfer and strange could fire away...Current surfer especially could do some damage since he has been stripped of his remorse

I used to believe Darkseid was untouchable, but he's not.

All it takes is significant energy output/manipulation to return his ultimate attack, and once that connects, he's pretty much out the match.

And when did Darkseid prove superior to the Promethian Giants?

Cuz i know he scared the Lords of Chaos once, but never the PGs to my knowledge.

Current Darkseid go bye-bye.

About 20 years ago, Darkseid would have made a great Defenders villain.

Never, but during the Orion series (maybe issue 14 or 13) we saw that he had instruments installed in one to release it from the wall and control it to do his bidding.

But, Strange has k.o'd Galactus with a single shot when Galactus and he fought. It was a fed Galactus, too.

When the hell has Darkseid > Celestials?

I seriously doubt these Promethian giants have laid the smack down on something as powerful as the Asgardian Destroyer when it confronted the host and was defeated with ease.

That has odin (galaxy buster) and everyone else iN Asgard in it and it was curbstomped by one Celestial. not even the strongest one either.

And yet DC has an equivalent in power to them and DS has beaten them?

Norrin: IF Strange was willing to take it that far, I doubt either of those 2 would help him to begin. Darkseid is at least Odin level. Now, with those 2, they'd have a chance. But Darkseid has control over time&space and is a matter manip, reality warper, a shit load of other things. So Strange will never get the chance.......
