Someone said on the forum that Bloody Mary was a woman who bathed in the blood of young women to regain her youth and beauty. This is totally inaccurrate and I have to correct you out of respect for history, truth and, though a dead and sadistic one, a historical figure.
The only woman known to do this (and these are facts) was Elizabeth Bathory, a noblewoman of Hungary, descendant of Vlad Tepes (otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler, famous for impaling everyone and leaving there bodies on stakes in front of his castle in Romania. This became known as the "Field of Death"
Elizabeth Bathory started to bathe in the blood of young women. Once one of her servant girls was helping her dress and pricked herself and her blood fell onto the hand of Lady Bathory. Lady Bathory looked and the spot where the blood dripped was now smoother, a different, brighter color. She thought she had found the key to the fountain of youth, eternal beauty. She killed this girl and killed as many as 200 to 2000 young girls in her time. She would prick some of the girls and hang them above to create a type of blood shower. She was eventually caught and sent to permanent solitary confinement. She suffered from some sort of neurological abnormality as she had severe attacks of epilepsy so this may be attributed to her sadistic behavior.
